I enjoyed the job and had great customers/ guests. Working there was sometimes stressful when it really shouldn't be. When I started I had 3 interviews which is the most I've ever had even in way better jobs, so I was expecting great things. However it seemed to be a little bit divided with new changes for improvement, which is great but it was very disorganized. Enforcing new rules on new staff by security, almost like being bullied ( which should be addressed by management) and letting old staff get away with anything. While I started 2 longer term staff quit with no notice and the rest of staff seemed close to having enough or looking for new work. Servers in restaurant and lounge had to use own floats, which was never mentioned about the job in 3 interviews. Although kitchen staff were nice, what was ordered by guests did not always come out in the meal, added or missing ingredients which sacrificed your tips. Yet you still had to tip out to kitchen. Poor communication with higher up staff assuming new staff know everything, events, wedding tastings, ect. Again making a easy job hard and stressful. Eventually this could be a great place to work but they need to figure it out and get everyone on board.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some of the employees and the housekeeping manager, she is amazing!!!
There is no communication hardly at all between the departments, and from the other managers, there’s no recognition for any hardly any of the employees you’re barely told that you’ve done a good job there’s a lot of complaining, but if you can make a good friend there, it’s worth being there to see them every day other than that I don’t have much to say about the place 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough detailed direction not enough teamwork if you get teamwork at all training is poor, you’re expected to do 3 to 4 jobs at a time sometimes without the information required to fully pull off everything that you’re meant to do stressful because you’re expected to have it done and sometimes it seems impossible. Sometimes I barely manage to get everything done and did I get a thank you once in a while did they bother to help at all? You are the same. it was one

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor you go there and you do your work and you watch the clock to go home 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day is the same. Like I said make a friend or you won’t want to go to work, the kitchen staff aren’t to bad

Due to the company going through the many changes and financial strain, it became over the last 3 years, increasingly difficult to manage you position through late payments.

When I took over Blu, it was a transition from Project Development Manager to General Manager due to my past work experience in the hospitality industry.  This was supposed to be an interim period whilst the company as trying to get back on its feet.  This did not happen.  However, during very trying times, I was able to successfully with very little support from the parent company to manage the hotel and keep the staff, without any major service disruption.

Unfortunately made redundant in January 2014, left a bitter taste in my mouth, as I was made redundant without being told, and was not paid my full payment.  This after putting 6 years of very hard and honest work into this company.  

However, I learned a great deal from this company, specifically in the project development realm, and I am most grateful for the experience, plus the pay was very good of this region.

Working at this hotel has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The environment is welcoming, the management team is supportive, and I genuinely feel comfortable and valued every day. I've learned so many new skills since joining, and the workplace culture is one of the best l've experienced-positive, respectful, and free of drama or gossip.
One of the things I appreciate most is how approachable and caring the managers and senior staff are.
Anytime l've faced a challenge or needed support, they've always been there to help. Requesting time off is easy and fair—my vacation requests have never been denied.
The job also comes with great perks, including staff parties and generous discounts at other hotels within the same company, which is a big plus. The only downside is during the slower seasons when business is quiet-it can get a bit dull without much to do.
The most enjoyable moments for me are when families with adorable kids check in, or when we host beautiful events throughout the summer. Those times really bring the place to life and make the work even more enjoyable.

•	Maintaining high quality of food and service, food costing, managing restaurants, bars, Coffee Shop or Cafe in Hotel.
•	Drinks prepared in the Bar to the Customers (Guest).
•	Set up the buffet of the restaurant.
•	Ensure a consistent and convincing standard of service and maintain all the service standards.
•	Great & seat customers and serve them in a professional, discreet & personalized way. 
•	Acquire in depth knowledge of the food & beverage menu of the assigned outlet in order to assist and provide advice to guests.
•	Practice good customer relations and attend to customer complaints, queries satisfactorily.
•	Responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in the outlet/service areas.
•	Responsible for building thorough knowledge of food and beverage served in the restaurant.
•	Responsible for approaching tables and taking orders for beverages and food.
•	To be able to use micros and understand all features available.
•	Responsible for proper charging and billing of guest consumption.
•	Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory and proper condition of equipment and operating supplies.

•	Ensuring guest requirements and requests are promptly and efficiently responded to achieve guest satisfaction.
•	Maintaining care and use of housekeeping supplies and equipment’s performing regular inspections for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
•	Inspecting storage rooms, utility and janitorial closets for upkeep and supply control.
•	Accountable for handling Master keys to ensure safety and security of guest and hotel property.
•	Assisting in effective handling of uniforms and linen.
•	Documenting and maintaining records pertaining to the section.
•	Responsible for handling Housekeeping desk efficiently by coordinating with other departments.
•	Handling housekeeping activities including cleanliness of Public Area, Floors, and Laundry, and Control Desk

What is the best part of working at the company?
Extremely fun customer basis to get to know and serve, check in and out

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being lead shift hand can get stressful when there is a line of check ins at 3-7 pm and you are one employee at the front desk.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very cool management to be lead by and with the JC’s bar and grill that has sport pool table and bar and the meeting rooms for business it makes for well diverse practical job knowledge and experience. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive 10 minutes early check departures check out all rooms with a friendly prompt demeanour cash out purchases from the lobby store communicate with housekeeping, authorize Expedia payed room stays.

Just don’t do it!

Management is horrible - they don’t manage. They do not solve problems. They have a million excuses and will never admit they have done wrong. They go as far as to blame your co-workers for the issues, as if employees don’t talk to one another. They treat you as if you are stupid, and are quick to belittle anyone that won’t bake them out of a situation they created. 
They do not hire qualified people to do the job. 
They do not train people properly. 
They go back on everything they say to you. Empty promises. 
Oh, and watch your pay because that won’t be accurate. 

Any other or rather every other company would be a better choice. 


the hotel was always busy , means that a  typical day was full of things to do.
I actually learned how to work under pressure.thinks like dealing with the Guests,dealing with  the time which is very important in this kind of Job, and make sure that every thing was right . 
some times is not easy to get everything on time , remember that there ere human beings  doing this job, every worker is an individual with different back grounds. Definitely it demands a lot of responsibility. 
from my point of view ,working in a hotel demands a lot of energy, Mentally and Phisycally.
but after a long day working , is good to know that the Guest  are happy in a clean room. and the  employees are happy that the job is done .

Everyday we had a task list to complete, and a various amount of other work. We all worked as a team and management worked with us as well (rare) and it is the best work enviroment I have ever worked in. We have 100% guest satisfaction program so we were always assuring our guests had a good stay and made sure if they did not to make it right. The hardest part of a day would be having a guest we just could not satisfy no matter what we tried. All departments worked as a team together which made the daily run of the hotel fairly easy. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting the variety of guests and the guest interaction. To make someones day because of a simple offering is very satisfactory! If I could I would bring my job home with me.
