I worked at Raider Hansen for 11 years, and had the opportunity to climb the ladder to a degree. There is lots of opportunity for the people that want to go and get it, which I did. Those that are lazy, unmotivated or are simply there for a paycheck, usually don't last long. While the merge that happened was tough, Raider Hansen has come a long way, continues to grow, and is quickly emerging as the #1 Construction/Industrial/Safety supplier in BC. Leaving Raider Hansen was one of the hardest things I have done in my professional career, but due to the travel piece that came with my advancement, I could no longer manage my work/home life. If your looking for a career, not just a job, I would highly recommend Raider Hansen.

While the company has enough employees, the work is amazing—nothing to complain about. However, as soon as someone resigns and the position is not filled, everything starts to go downhill because everyone becomes extremely overloaded. I was hired to be an outside sales representative, but at the end of my day, I always need to go back to the warehouse and help with warehouse routines, working as a picker and shipper. This becomes extremely frustrating because you end up working twice as much but are not compensated for it.

Before the merge with Cascade, Raider Hansen was run well. They paid bills on time, they had decent compensation for their workers, and the managers of the stores had some sway on decisions for there branch they ran. 

The company lost more than 50% of their employee this passed year. Many of the most senior employees have left to competitors because of poor treatment and lack of any advancement in the company.

Cascade sullied the good name of Raider Hansen

If you are talented, motivated, and show initiative you can learn a lot working here and progress quickly. There is a very large population of legacy staff who offer years of experience and industry knowledge to pass on but it also leaves lots of room for modernization and new ideas. They will always listen and consider the opinions of their staff and the upper management of the company are caring and very eager to elevate those who show they deserve it.

Great place to work if you’re customer service oriented. Management cares about all employees personally and wants the best for them. Always wants you to grow and move up in the company as well as they are willing to put you into whatever training you need to succeed. Computer system is a bit archaic and out dated in what you’re able to do with it. Great place to work if you’re looking for a career. 

Great place to work and grow, if you want advancement. If you don't, you will make raises until a certain point, once you hit that, you've reached your cap and the only way to make more money is to move into new positions in the company. No matter how long you decide to work in that position.

The location was an easy transit commute

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The ancient computer system, the outdated processes, the unhappy environment 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its a very toxic, unhappy group of people that are always calling in sick and yelling at eachother

Pays very low for the amount of things you do. They make you move items almost 100 lbs daily for almost minimum wage. About 2 deliveries a day making most of your time spent counting inventory. Managers give no clear instructions and follow you around finding things for you to do. 3 people quit after me. Should tell you enough about what it's like to work there 

i will remember my time at raider hansen fondly. it is a great place with work with management that care about you and your advancement in the company. there is lots of room for growth and you will receive as much training as you want. compensation being the biggest issue as it is below what the competitors are paying

no factual direction. upper management always pointing finger at lower management then activating training but not really talking with the team
