When I started at Rainbow, I loved it there. Staff were professional, collaborative, and management treated staff well. After years of working there, I made the decision to leave. Over time the work environment became toxic. Management leave the room constantly and for an unpredictable amount of time; sometimes leaving their staff alone/out of ratio. We were constantly short staffed, and the staff that do show up are overworked and burnt out. It’s no wonder that staff continually call in- even though the day ends when the daycare closes you take the mental and emotional toll home with you. Substitutes are paid just above minimum wage, and aren’t given benefits. As a full time ECE I barely made enough to cover living expenses. Management will make you feel bad for calling in sick or taking a mental health day, and will even try convincing you to come in. It is sad to leave the coworkers, children, and families I’ve built connections with, but enough is enough 

I didn't leave on bad terms and liked everyone i worked with. I found it was a stressful place to work. They pay inclusion workers just barely above minimum wage and they don't offer benefits, holidays or sick days to full-time inclusion workers. In the end i felt like all the work I did wasn't worth bad pay and no benefits. Felt like I didn't have any support from management and felt like I couldn't ask for the support I wanted. Not a bad place to work but without any ECE schooling the wage isn't livable. Seemed like all they cared about was saving money.

If you like to be micro-managed this is the place for you.  
So many of their own rules that you can’t even keep up.  And of course you will only find out about their rules after you have unknowingly broken them.  
Also staff are not treated equal.   If you friends with the Assistant Director you get get away with anything.  


The only reason I left this center was because there was not enough available shifts for me to take. Being a substitute Child Care Assistant cause me to have unpredictable hours and shifts, which did not suit my needs. Other than that, the center, the staff, etc., was all great.

I learned how to interact with children. I learned to be responsible and respectable in a work place. The hardest pak of the job was leaving to complete school to better my self-esteem. My most enjoyable part of the job was working with kids everyday.

Fun place to work at, with many positive challenges that have advanced who I am as a person. Tasks included picking kids up from school, setting and creating activities for them to do before, after and for the kindergarten kids that would stay in the morning.

Rainbow not only provides the basics like a good salary and benefits but a truly caring team. They listen to your goals and help you to succeed. They are a great representation of work-life-balance. One of the best places I’ve worked! 

This daycare is awesome with staff and the kids attending it. Caring environment and a great atmosphere for a child to learn in. The wages are low in the field but rainbow makes up for this with amazing opportunities for its staff

It depends on the location and who ur co-workers are but overall good. They do continuously paid training. Only the long term workers (10 years plus) get priority so it's hard to move up until some literally retires. 


My Co-workers seemed to know stuff about the other staff members and were Kind-hearted, Friendly people but in some way you would feel left out just because you probably don't belong
