It seems quite amazing now as time passes that what I experienced and reflected upon, over the my eleven years at Ian Martin Limited are the same feelings that I still have today. Equally refined and understood are my memories, from the trials of exuberance and exhaustion that were impressed upon me by myself and those around me. From taking the reins to transition Nortel's hardware engineering services and making Ian Martin a Tier One supplier was a great challenge but definitely a source of tremendous pride for all of the team at Ian Martin. We worked hard, and smart, and honestly to give our customers the best experience possible. I always come full circle to see it this that this journey really encompassed a truly enjoyable engagement with people. It is the people really. The day to day interactions......."What do you have going on today?", "Do you need any help?", "Would you like to go for lunch on Thursday?", and then on Friday saying "WOW! We did it! We accomplished everything we wanted to do this week. Have a great weekend and see you again on Monday, alright!!!"

I would arrive at work every morning 15 minutes before I would start to greet and say "Good morning" to all the staff that walked in. The staff was sociable and caring - everyone got along, it was great! So happy to be a part of that team! I have learned so much about what people do for a living, created great relationships with my co-workers, learned that this is what I really like to do. I like to help my co-workers and support them and make things happen! This means meeting deadlines even when thinking the impossible - I would make it possible. My staff loved me, I could feel it. They really did appreciate the work I did which was great. I felt worthy. The hardest part of the job was multi-tasking so much for so many people at once, but whatever it was I would make it happen and never disappointed my coworkers - I only surprised them and even myself which is why I can now say I really can multi-task. I would use my Outlook daily to plan my time very well. I was very specific for my work and timing. I totally enjoyed this work place and it will remain unforgettable.

I've been at Ian Martin for 8 years and couldn't be prouder to work at this company. Why? First of all, this company has no bosses, everyone is 100% empowered with both the freedom and the responsibility to make their biggest impact. Second, we're the only large staffing company that's also a certified social enterprise - a B Corp. It's in our DNA to have a purpose that's much bigger than making money. And finally, this company is the most agile and innovative company in our market - because anyone can make any decision, and we always work out loud and gather advice and collective intelligence, the organic strategy and decisions are the best that they can be. This company is an example of what the future of work could and should be like. 

First review ever as this employer really deserves.
Never had this simple & quick process of hiring experience as compared to my past employers.
But some of the things were not clear as hiring process was fast paced. (Took me 1.5 hours to complete the hiring formalities & account setup online)
The training was fast paced aswell (2 days) & had to catch up quickly. The staff was supportive but mostly busy, sometimes had to rely on self training going through training material which was easily accessible.
The device was provided through company (arrived through mail). The pay was slightly more compared to the others. Sometimes the weekly pay was received 1 day earlier.
The work was not stressful. The straight morning shift worked well for me
The only worse part it is that the contract is 
 temporary full time (1 month).


What is the best part of working at the company?
The support and the people I worked with were kind, smart and very social! Ian Martin was supportive by making sure we had the tools and the skips to complete our job. Worked as a COVID Manager. Loved this job immensely!!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We worked in a fast paced role. But lived it!!!

Positive, informative and made sure we had the tools to do our job 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy informative fast pace but rewarding

working at the art museum's bookstore was a good first start for me in the art industry. Of course, I didn't make the art, but it helped me discover many different artists and it will definitely help me in the future. the place was calm and easy going and I made many friends during that time.
The harder part was mostly the difficult customers, but it didn't happen a lot, as well as having to review jewelries, which was my only weakness. There were numerous rushes, but I got used to them after a while.

There can be no other word to describe working at Ian Martin other than "unique".  Take everything you know about management theory and throw it away.  By giving the employees the opportunity to work in self-managed teams, it leads to the question...why do we really need management?  If people are passionate about their work, want to be treated as adults and care about the well being of their colleagues then you will have discovered a day in the life at Ian Martin!  

The payroll messed up my pay and they are not responsive when you speak up to ask for correction. You won't get all paid holidays unless it is specified in their own website. As a contractor, you won't get vacation, benefits, and direct communication with them. You have to wait for them to either email or call you back.
The only benefit is that you can work hybrid (2 day of work from home) if you work for Enbridge. 
No job security as the position is based on contract. You have to please the client's company for the possibility of contract renewal.

Great support, awesome trainers.  Enjoyed working with all the staff

No stress really. No matter what you always got the support needed

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Energetic, fun and supportive. Morning meetings were always enjoyable. Great srart to your day

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, but I found that time went so fast and the day was over before you knew it

Management needs to be revised and looked into. Very judgmental, needs to listen to the employees and give them a chance
Most Co-workers were nice
Hardest part of the job was trying to help a customer only to find out that I never had the proper resources to help them
Most enjoyable part of my day was when a Client thanked me for my help.
