A typical day at Kobo is a relaxed pace. You get work done on your time, but there is focus and urgency in building towards team goals. 

There's lots of snacks, coffee, tea, and ways to go about stretching, getting fresh air and such. 

The hardest part of Kobo is being patient while products are in process. You might not get to see the fruits of your work for quite some time. 

Management isn't especially great or especially bad. I was fortunate enough to have a great management team during my time there.

Bring everything you got and share it with your team and everything will pay off. The atmosphere is relaxing that you can work in peace. You can see dogs as it is a dog-friendly office. Everyone is willing to give you support as long as you know how to reach out.

Great for fresh grads, lots of snacks, immature management, great perks, close to public transit, good learning environment for developers, decisions are ordered without transparency or discussion.

If there is anything better than work for big stable company or work for small, agile startup exists - this is it: big company with a lot of resources yet operates like startup.

if you are ambious about career growth than Kobo has less to offer. A part from that Rakuten overall is a great company. If you like to experience working in Ebook industry then its a good place but beware of office politics :)
