Typical day at work in my store is, Swipe in, wait for our supervisor on duty to let us know which till we are supposed to be on. They are typically supposed to let you know about the "deal of the week" and the "weekly free item" but a lot of the time they do not. ring customer groceries through, go for your fifteen minute coffee come back maybe take over for someone else so they can go for a coffee, then home.

I have learned a great deal of patience, more efficient customer service, and a variety of duties, such as filing, shredding, photocopying, being trained as a supervisor, how to check prices on the shelf.

management is really not the greatest. The most poor of past companies I had worked for before. They do not give you feed back on how you do, they do not confront your mistakes you just get shafted and glared at, also treated like dirt.

Hardest part of my job, I do not find my job hard, Standing for hours with no break can be stressful but i do not find it hard, dealing with customers is a breeze, and dealing with fellow employees is simple.

I find the most enjoyable part of my job is coming to work and seeing all the regular customers, and employees I have worked with for almost five years. Making customers smile, and try to make them have a good day or even moment while their at my till makes me feel good too.

Do not let them use "job security" to trick you into staying with them. I worked far too hard for minimum wage, with no sight of a raise at anytime in the almost two years I worked there. Management picks their favorites and whether those individuals slack off or work hard, they get rewarded. Constantly had other people get credit for the work I did. Management was only nice to you if they wanted something done. Customers were entitled and horrendous. I went home crying in many different occasions. Not student friendly either. If you restrict your hours they give all the hours to the people who can work anytime and you get the scraps. I'm sorry, but as a full time student, I cannot be living on $65 a paycheck every two weeks. So disappointed because they rope you in with job security and benefits, but restrict your hours and you get both taken away 

You can give them a completely open availability and they will only schedule you a couple shifts a week. They give you absolutely no feedback when learning the tasks for the department you are in, whether it’s things you are doing good at or things you need to work on. Management would rather fire people than help the staff to do better at their job and tell staff what they need to work on. One employee was scheduled no shifts for a week. At the beginning of the shift they had asked if they can pick up any shifts if any open up and manager told them they would get back to them. At the end of their shift, 8 whole hours later, was told they are not scheduled any shifts because they are being fired. When firing they make up an excuse. An excuse that should’ve been suggested to work on to do better, not to be immediately fired. 1 star is a generous rating. Would never recommend someone to work for this company. 

A typical day would include either calm customers and relaxed but busy management or nightmarish customers and rude and brutish coworkers and young, immature supervisors with superiority complexes. 

The best part of the job were the friends that were made but the worst part is the supervisors who were very evidently given marginally higher positions and abuse power, barking orders at people then proceeding to sit in the office doing nothing. 

The hours would fluctuate due to poor management and there were other smaller management issues. The culture of the job was very cold and training is not given appropriately. 

i'd highly suggest a revamping of the training process and promotion process for supervisors as some people are not fit for the job.

I have worked as a grocery clerk for a year now. The job itself is quite easy can be hard work lifting stock. They are extremely flexible with my schedule, having school and other needs. My managers are all around good attitude except for the occasional rude comments made. I believe it would be a good job if you are someone who can take on customers every two minutes. During rush hour and busy hours it gets extremely full and you are always having to deal with at least a rude customer once but I’ve never had a problem with over the top rude customers. Stock is quite relaxed and you keep to yourself for the most part. You get good hours if you ask for them, you can call in without a hassle depending on your manager, and you get paid accordingly. 

My experience included the managers being very strict about schedules, the way you work with costumers and with co-workers. The managers would get easily annoyed every time I needed assistance (needing assistance often especially first starting out at any job is normal) but they did not enjoy assisting. The managers would come across as rude from the very beginning and would not respect my concerns about managing my schedule being a full-time college student at the time and managing my work schedule. 

My personal experience was not a good one to say the least. I would not recommend working here if you have a busy schedule. They want people who are available almost 24/7. I recommend this job if you enjoy a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure/stress.

Well sometimes theres not enough rf scanners to use

Most peoples are happy some very grumpy but i try to make them happy if their having a bad day

I work i do my job im a very hard worker over '50'  noboby bothers me and i like to work there
But others get 'talked about'  and are great workers and its just not fair
Some young ones are slackers and just need a little more direction
Like 'phones'

RCSS Grimsby is overall a good place to work. You will NEVER get full time unless you are a manager. Although you can pick up a lot of shifts, depending on the week. Management is mostly friendly and easy to approach. In front end where I was, it was easy to talk to co workers and get to know them, where as other departments I don't know if its the same. I would say more then 60% is young people either in high school or just out of. Mostly friendly customers, with the odd nasty one, so that honestly isn't bad. I really enjoyed working here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a job.

Enjoyed the people l worked with. We started when the store did.

Working customer service. Some customers were very rude and loud. Had one try to grab me.

It changed over the years. It was a nice place to work becaused you felt appreciated. The store manager always said hello.

Sold lotto tickets,bus tickets, and stamps. Did refunds and exchanges. Posted recalls ,activated lotto tickets,balanced cash, and did overrides for cashier.

I’ve been working here for almost 5 years and have had experience in multiple departments among the store. I personally have been treated fairly in most of my positions, and enjoy my coworkers. With that said, the overnight manager was very rude, unfair and a bully. The managers like to pick favourites here and treat others poorly, which although I have not experienced it much, I know that it is not fair for others. I am getting to the end of my time here, though, because I am not getting enough hours to pay my bills. The hours have been cut here TREMENDOUSLY and it is not worth my time anymore.
