Red Dog Deli

I worked at Red Dog for 5 years, and would likely still be there if I didn't move out of the Lower Mainland. 
It wasn't an easy job, working in the cold with raw meat, but it was a good company to work for. The owner constantly strove to make improvements to the equipment, operational procedures and generally improving life for the employees. 
Despite being a small company, there were regular raises, bonuses and perks. Health insurance was brought in and there was flexibility when time off was needed for personal matters. 
It was a fun place to work, good people. The owner even hired my terrible punk band to play the Christmas party one year!
I was in the production department, shipping/receiving and will say again, this is not an easy job. But hard work was rewarded. Management was very open about their goals, finances and vision. Red Dog is all about quality and I have the utmost respect for this company. I am no longer an employee, but I am still a customer.

My position at Red Dog started out as a part-time office support person, it since then has grown into a full-time purchaser for the company. Managements ability to see a person's strength is amazing, to allow someone to shine in what they excel in is the best part of my career. The workplace culture is truly one of a kind, I can arrive at work feeling perhaps a little tired, rundown, sad, but I know I will be greeted with such a warm and caring work family, they will lift my spirits, offer support, an ear to listen, and a smile! What more could a person ask for!  Working for Red Dog is such a rewarding experience, I can't wait to see our company grow and present opportunities for existing and new team members.

What impressed me initially about Red Dog Blue Kat was the joy and passion of the team. They were genuinely excited about their mission of helping pets live longer and healthier lives. In the past three years of working at Red Dog I have grown to understand where this passion comes from. 

The team is dedicated to making the highest quality pet food while staying true to their core values of Care, Integrity and Balance. It is a higher calling for all of us, but we support one another toward this endeavor. I have never been part of a food manufacturing team that shows such care and attention to food safety and quality.

This is a great company to work for if you are passionate about pets, health and aligned with the company core values.

Red Dog Blue Kat is an awesome atmosphere to be a part of. There is a lot to love about this company, mainly the friendliness of the environment and the staff that gets promoted everyday!

The company promotes work/life balance, which is extremely important to me. This allows me to have flexible working hours and still have time in my day to enjoy it with loved ones. 

Coming into work does not feel like a chore but instead I love coming in and contributing my part to this growing business. 

The CEO is very easy to get along with and allows for autonomy, this makes you want to do the work because no one is constantly looking over your shoulder. You get rewarded for a job well done and critiqued in a very professional manner, which allows for improvement in your work.

Big focus on H&S and quality.  On-site laboratory for processing test keeps the food and us safe from stuff that could make the team sick.
The quality of the ingredients used blows me away, it's not pet food like how I thought pet food was made (and probably is by other brands).
The work is tough because it's in a cool/cold environment which gets quite noisy when all the machines are working.  On your feet a lot with decent breaks.  Got to be pretty strong and resilient to get the most from working here.  The work isn't difficult but you have to hustle to keep up with the experienced team.

I left my previous job of 10 years to come to Red Dog Deli and I have never looked back. Red Dog Deli is a great place to work! Friendly and amazing staff. Being 1 of the drivers its a fast paced environment being out on the road. A long day goes by very quickly when you're out and about. The owner is on site and very dedicated to the company and the staff. You feel appreciated for what you do and it definitely shows!

At first it was a great start with the company and as the months went by I have grown to like everyone. But one thing is for sure, the saying “one mistake over shadows a million good deeds” is 100% true with this company. You got to have your own back cause they will turn on you. The staff was great! But management, thats a whole other story. They preach family but when you make a few mistakes, they think differently about you behind your back. Always cut your lawn so you can see the snakes. 

Red Dog Blue Kat is a cheerful workplace where I look forward to coming to work everyday. Each employee feels valued in their specific role and brings something to the table. Management is fantastic and has it's employees concerns at the forefront. 

RDBK creates fantastic products for pets, has a great team & offers awesome benefits (especially for your pets). Bring your dog to work in a positive environment & help pets live healthy lives.

this company has horrendous management. From the owner all the way down. They guess and make things up as they go with absolutely no foresight into future planning. The worst pet food company around
