Redrock Camps

A smaller camp allowed me to get to know the clients on a much more personal level, we were able to work very closely together making everyone's stay more enjoyable. I had a smile on my face everyday and looked forward to greeting everyone, asking them about their day, solving any problems that are brought to my attention. The catering company left a lot to be desired on the upper management side. Poor quality of staff constantly sent up making extra work for the competent and loyal staff to pick up. Very unprofessional, nothing was done to rectify the problems and the result was a lot of good, hardworking, and loyal staff leaving.

Performed cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping.
Wrapped sandwiches/cookies, handled hot entrees, and desserts to customers specifications.
Scrubbed and polished counters, cleaned glasses and dishes.
Replenished foods to be prepared to meet customers as required.
Brewed coffee and tea, and filled containers with requested beverages.
Operated dish washing equipment and distributed and stored clean pots, dishes and utensils
Cleaned and sanitized production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
Emptied trash containers as required and maintained assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition

I worked hard for red rock wearing many hats. I started off as a camp attendant then bounce around because of my good work ethics to accommodate cuts. I ended up working as a janitor at pelican. I was then placed at a fire camp unexpectedly with out consultation. I was expected to take another salary cut with more responsibility. I waited to get a placement elsewhere and wasn't consulted. I applied for EI and management said I quit. What a crock. I worked hard and this was the thanks I got. Management doesn't care for their employees. They will screw you over. Apply with another catering company

There was always steady work for those who actually worked. Teamwork available for those who wanted to or work alone was always an option. Communication was good, email was best way with the office staff. You can take off as much time as you needed so long as you informed the office, again communication lines had to be kept open. Most people were understanding should a situation arise. The hardest part of the job was actually dealing with fellow staff employees especially those who complained all the time. The best part of the job was working with friendly staff both office and staff members.

Not knowing if you had a job after factors happening and no one told... boo not cool

Good until things hit the fan and no one was told

Work hard be smart. Ummmm that's all I can say

Management for this company is unorganized, absent from the office almost all the time. I assume the personal affairs and social engagements are more important than the employees they manage. I would not recommend this employer to anyone. The people working in the field however, (your co-workers), were generally good to work with. It's unfortunate that there is such a poor team and role model for management.

Never work for this company...they lack respect, to much gossip from both employees and management. Never will I work another camp that only pays minimum wages. Maybe if I was a person from a different culture I would get treated better. I hated the head chef I worked under. All he did was think he was mr hot shot. And wouldnt shut up complaining. And go figure that all you find in the office is this stick figure barbie doll blond. If you dont have blond hair and big boobs the the guys in this company wont treat with respect.

I really enjoyed working at red rock the the managers were amazing and welcoming the staff as well. My favourite part of work was when Halloween or Christmas comes and we go to the great around. The camp was really fun. I enjoyed it and I learned few skills of cleaning that I didn’t know before and it really helped me during my days of working there and there was really no hard part of work it was very easy if you know what you’re doing and what you’re supposed to do there was no really hard part






I worked for Redrock GrandePrairie as Deployment Administrator. 
I have had many jobs, but this job was the most fun I have ever had. 
The people and the position where actually my dream job, I was crushed when the layoff came and crushed, even more, when the call came  for a call back to work, but we had moved. 

I don't think I will ever have a job to compare to the one I had at Red Rock. 
If you guys ever venture to BC and the Kamloops area,,, be assured there is a devoted employee waiting.

Moved around a lot due to being a relief cook, most camps were a pleasure to take over, others made me wonder who put the idiot in charge of the kitchen as they were disgusting and the first cook probably knew i'd say something as he had left before i got there and was late for the handover when i left.
On seeing this, it was clear that management were happy just to have a permanent cook in the location rather than rectify the situation and replace him.
