A typical day for me was preparing food baskets and cleaning the warehouse before opening the client window for client pick ups. I learned great typing skills and how to problem solve on the spot. The management was amazing, if I had a problem or concern it was considered as soon as possible and almost always resolved within 10 minutes. The workplace was great at times but sometimes there were clients who liked to cause a problem but were taken care of right away. The hardest part of this job was some clients were violent or unhappy with their food orders and demanded more than what they were entitled too, but I made sure I only took to what I could help with and didn't acknowledge unwanted behavior. The most enjoyable part was helping clients and seeing smiles on their faces when they left the window, happy with what they received for that pick up date.

Typical day at work would be opening store making sure the shelves were stocked and everything brought forward.  I have been able to help people make purchases and give meal ideas and recipes, people come into the store and always left happy and satisfied.  People would come into store and say how great it was and that the prices were with in there budget.  I have also learned that anyone can have hard times and still need to be treated with respect.  The happiest time was seeing the people smile.  Many customers even though they did not come to shop would always come in and smile and say hi.

Volunteering at the food bank has been a valuable learning experience. I've gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families dealing with food insecurity. 
The management at the food bank demonstrates strong leadership and organization. Clear communication channels are maintained, and there is a sense of purpose in the way tasks are assigned. The management fosters a positive and collaborative environment, making the volunteering experience enjoyable.

As a volunteer the best part of working at the company is making the work easier for the staff to serve the community in their daily activities

Standing for a long time especially when working inside the warehouse or when picking and arranging foods inside boxes

I obtained my Canadian experience in food bank as a volunteer and I enjoyed doing my daily routine as picked up every time

This is a great place to work and if they are ever hiring I greatly recommend applying for whatever position. The staff is great and just an amazing team to be a part of, the clients are usually very nice, but sometimes there are people that come in and cause a few problems but it just helps you get better at your job. The management was great, I felt very appreciated during my time there.

I learned how to be an entry level server along with the basics of a bartender. I learned what is required for great costumer service. I got along great with my co-workers. I enjoyed communicating with the costumer's. It was hard managing the orders in the beginning but I have learned much more how to adequatley write orders down in a neat fashion.

I worked as volunteer in food bank, I learn cooperation, work in fast pace environment, how to help needy people. This organization is started for the help of poor people to provide food to them. They serve prepared food as well as ready mate food to their clients.

I was some one who sorted and packaged goods, met alot of friendly people and did various things that were fun and kept me motivated to come back and meet new people.

Productive work that is for a good cause. The food bank staff are friendly and helpful and all the roles that volunteers will be given are not too physically taxing but still get you active.
