What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working at Reid’s Heritage Homes is incredibly fulfilling, but like any company in the homebuilding industry, it comes with its share of challenges. One of the biggest stressors is the unpredictability of the market, fluctuating interest rates, shifting buyer demand, and supply chain disruptions can all impact timelines and priorities. Navigating government policies, development charges, and municipal red tape can also slow down progress and add layers of complexity to projects. On top of that, there’s the natural pressure to meet high standards, juggle tight deadlines, and coordinate across multiple departments. While it can be demanding, the strong support system and team spirit here make even the toughest days easier to manage.

The culture at Reid’s Heritage Homes is one of connection, purpose, and pride. We’re a values-driven organization where people come first, where collaboration isn’t just encouraged, it’s expected. From the office to the job sites, there’s a shared commitment to doing meaningful work and supporting one another along the way. Our leadership is approachable, our wins are celebrated together, and our challenges are met with teamwork and resilience. Whether it’s through wellness initiatives, community involvement, or professional growth opportunities, there’s a genuine focus on making this a place where people feel empowered, appreciated, and proud to be part of the journey. It’s not just a workplace, it’s a place where culture lives in everything we do.

In the past few years, this company has gone through a revolving door of leaders. They pride themselves on their culture but it is only a façade in reality. Employee morale is at an ultimate low with many employees looking for opportunities elsewhere. The company's mentality is to put up roadblocks to any suggested change, no matter its size or significance. They want everything to stay the same as it was in the year 2000. There is a serious lack of interest in advancing technology or implementing any sort of efficiencies. Passionate and engaged employees are not appreciated, recognized or rewarded. On the contrary, they are discouraged from bringing forth any new ideas.  
It's a sad situation to watch a company with so much potential drive itself into the ground. But if anyone speaks up, it is not long before that employee is shown the door. 

Don't expect to have any bonuses or pay increases - they do not exist.

Very down-to-earth family run company. Not too top heavy (I've worked for another company of similar size where executive team was overbearing - not the case here). Exceptionally approachable, responsive, and caring president. A general feeling of cooperation among most of the staff. It's busy, but the weight is fairly equally spread across all full time staff, so there's a good sense of camaraderie. Other benefits include Kindness in Action Days (you get paid to volunteer at a charity of your choice on a typical work day, as long as you volunteer another day during a weekend or day off on your own time), Health & Wellness Dollars (a generous amount each year to spend on gym membership, fitness/sports equipment, or other health products/services), good benefits & RRSP matching program, personal days that are paid out if not used by the end of the calendar year (great incentive), and almost a full week off between Christmas and New Years.

Reid's has the best workplace culture hands-down. The team is highly engaged, supportive and everyone generally seems to enjoy coming to work every day. There is ample award/recognition for team members, awesome perks/benefits, flex hours, desirable compensation, really can't think of any negatives to be honest.

Busy but rewarding helping an supporting the residents is amazing

Great team of professional employees.  As an administrative person my duties included data entry, filing, meeting scheduling and switch board relief.  Worked in many departments helping with the overflow.  Management was open to new ideas and welcomed change to help improve the routine duties.

Worked for this company for over 10 years. Under paid the entire time. They brought new people in then let me go without any reason. It used to be a decent company when I started but the quality and management have both gone to sh.. I recommend working for anyone but Reid’s. They will try and have you believe that your a valued member of the team then fire you the next day. 

Each individual has the power to change a project going wrong once empowered by a progressive manager. The company name is important, therefore it needs to be upheld regardless if customers are not completely satisfied.  The company will make strides to satisfy a customer after a closing date.
