Relay for Life

at this relay for life event run by the students and teachers of Maxwell heights school is an event for cancer society organization. It was a event with a lot of fun activities such as paint ball fight, painting, drawings, and spin the bottle games. This event was mainly dedicated to all the survivors of cancer patients it was an eye opening ceremony where many of us learned a lot and appreciated life more. My duty in this event was welcoming guests and guiding them where to go and where the main ceremony was taking place also I had a little speech to do too. and lastly I distributed water bottles to every guest who walked in through the main door to the event.

Relay for Life was a all night event starting at 7 PM and ending at 9 AM the next morning. I participated in setting up sponsor booths, set candles around the school track, lit the candles, cleaned any garbage on the field, cleaned up the candles when Relay for Life finished. Helping out at Relay for Life was extremely rewarding in the way that I was helping the community and every person who survived or was fighting cancer in the Elgin Community. I have helped out with Relay for Life for 2 years and I will continue to help out every year.

Being around so many people that lost so many loved ones from cancer or other illnesses really made me realize how grateful I am and the life I was given but also I was able to help and comfort others by participating in a walk dedicated to them and their families. I helped set up stands and games for the kids, worked different stations, and got to talk with some of the survivors or loved ones of those who have passed.

Relay for Life is not an actual job, but is a fundraiser completed across schools in Canada to raise money for cancer foundations. Although this is not an actual paying job, it allows individuals to participate in an event that takes a lot of planning, and dedication to complete. Relay for Life is an excellent event to run, and it is always enjoyable.

This was not a job, this was an event held by the Canadian Cancer Society. It was wonderful since this event was supporting a good cause. Many students enjoyed the activities we, as volunteers, put up for them.

Not a job, just volunteer work, but very exciting and beneficial day saving over $50,000 for cancer research. Helped set up events for relay, carrying tables, preparing food. most enjoyable part of this volunteer work was the satisfaction of making a difference in someone's life who may need that money more than you do.

Walked continuously overnight for 12 hrs in shifts. Many games and activities kept everyone awake and in good spirits. A long moment of silence was used to pay our respect to those that lost their battle with cancer and in the hopes that those battling currently would stay strong.

I volunteered with Relay for Life and it was an awesome experience. The staff and the organizers are outstanding and they try to do their possible best to make sure that everyone feels included, having a good time, becoming more educated on cancer and much more.

every single time i volunteered there my hear got more and more full. everybody is so loving and kid within these kinds of organizations. if you are looking for an eye opening experience i would suggest volunteering with relay for life.

Relay for life is one of the best places that I have volunteered. It's very beneficial and emotional. Allows for people to connect and support those with cancer, and remember those who cancer has taken from us.
