Company could use many improvements. Coworkers in field are great, and the work/life balance is great, however the shortcomings and mismanagement of office staff is depressing. When they are hiring and looking for more employees, current employees can expect to be sitting at home. Many times, scheduling can be last minute, from getting a text from the Director of operations at 10pm, to Project managers texting you at 7am expecting you to be ready to work 30 minutes later. The owner is a great guy, but his inability to take control and pass on leadership to under qualified employees is starting to show. Quarterly meetings, free beer, & a lack of training in the field is what you can expect. Past reviews are textbook templates by office staff, and people were bought lunch to leave them. Pay is very low end, no 3 month raise.

In addition to that the managers are open to new ideas and are developing new procedures and systems to improve the quality and efficiency of the services provided which will eases the work from the most experience employee to the newest hire.

A PM's typical day would involve tasks such as:
-Scheduling and managing field crew
-Assist with specifying the best products for the clients intended use and requirements
-Technical design of projects
-Forecast and manage budgets/timelines on active and upcoming projects (this is the hardest part of the role)
-Reviewing sites for conformance to best practices and CEC
-Coordination with Inspectors and Hydro

Management has structure and experience and operate with compassion and an open minded approach to new ideas.

Workplace culture and camaraderie is of great importance with monthly and annual events/traditions taking place.

Everyone is supportive, friendly, and always willing to help one another. There is not the typical divide between journeymen and apprentices, everyone is treated with respect and that really shows. Work is always engaging. The camaraderie is strong.  I started many years ago and have been welcomed with opportunities for advancement.  

The training and performance indicators have grown strongly.  Accountability structure that ensures each staff member is rewarded for excellence or guided towards success, but most importantly, they are heard.  Everybody has a regular chance to talk to the person they report to.  

Great workspace with a team that promotes skill within.  Quality and excellence are the driving feature of the brand. 

Great place to work if you don’t have much experience and are not looking to advance your career. Everyone is great, however you must play their game to succeed. Field staff pay is low, too many office workers so the overhead is high. High overhead=Low wages. Recently had wage reviews, large chunk of the company was not given raises! Were told that the company isn’t profitable enough.. they actually told employees the reason they are not receiving raises is because they aren’t profitable enough.

Reliable is so far one of the best companies where I've worked in. Everyone is patient and help each other whatever its needs. The team of supervisors and managers are always trying to push their employees up. The company is reliable and very competent especially when a job needs to be done. The crew has high knowledge and its always prepared for new challenges.

I've been with Reliable for nearly two years now and the whole team puts employees and coworkers first. They host a ton of events outside of work and make me enjoy everyday at work. They also do quality work that their clients really value which makes it easier to get behind them.

In the two years, I have seen the company grow, increase salaries and create new opportunities for the most dedicated employees. There is no other company I'd rather be at.

Working at Reliable Electric is unlike any other company that I have worked for. I genuinely care about the other employees, contractors, and the quality work that we do. I would recommend Reliable Electric to anyone that is looking for an enjoyable work environment that cares about its employees as individuals, not as numbers.
