If you'd like to work somewhere that doesn't appreciate anything you do, and will never stick up for you when it comes to customers or management, then this is the place for you.

You will start off maybe enjoying the job but once you're there for awhile and realize all the things they try to force on you and make you do, you will want nothing to do with this place. They make you enter into dirty homes and pick up furniture that has either been destroyed or even INFESTED with bugs where you literally have to wear a painters suit and stick the product into a mattress cover to try and contain the bugs and still place it on the work truck and bring it back into the store, they will try and re-sell anything as long as they can make a quick dollar on a product that will be priced at 3x its original price and sell it to people who can barely afford to keep the homes they live in, where you will be back in a couple weeks to pick said product back up and repeat the process. You will also be harassed and threatened by customers who will either spit in your face, threaten to send people after you or even pull weapons on you for trying to collect the money they owe, the higher ups won't care tho and will still make you go there everyday to try and collect that out-standing balance and, if you do get a hold of the delinquent customer most of the time the manager or someone above him will make a deal and wont bother to phone you when they know all to well that you're on the road heading to said customer and, the customer now gets mad at you for "harassing" them about payments.

Not only is the work you do under paid and they rush you on a impossible deal line for deliveries or other duties during the day, but they will also throw in doing personal work for the owner (delivering his mail, dropping a vacuum off to him, etc.).

All in all the company thinks of you as disposable and replaceable regardless of how long you worked for them, they will do whatever means necessary to try and bully you into leaving the job instead of them firing you, that way it doesn't look bad on there end and you look like the quitter, they will manipulate your resignation and even after leaving they will still try to keep tabs on where you are currently working and speak poison into the ear of your future employer.

If I could give this job a lower rating than one star I would. First to start, the manager did not provide much training. Would also constantly leave the store to go run personal errands, leaving myself, a brand new employee,(first day) to watch the store while they were gone. Also within minutes of my first shift they asked me to go get supplies for the store since they can never seem to stay well stocked. Definitely do not treat all employees the same, as another person started the day after me, and they got more one-on-one time and explanations on how to do deliveries and pick-ups. Management is not open to new ideas, and will dismiss you if you try to inform them of a problem that they don’t agree with. Cameras in every area aren’t enough to prevent theft as there was some suspicious activity going on between the manager and one of the workers that has been there for a few years. Do not work here if you have any sense of self respect.

Job was not good. You are asked to pretty much run the place, use the computers and take payments. 50% of the job you are always chasing people/ calling people about missed payments and trying to get product back since almost half the customers are low lifes.
Do not work here unless you want to stand around all day sleeping and dusting the same 6 pieces of furniture in the show room... also having to always drive to people's homes who never answer trying to get money they owe. Moving heavy furniture into most of the time horrible living conditions, they ask way to much and dont give anything in return. 
This job rents to everyone and then expects you to deal with all the issues when people dont pay or give things back they have. 

You do all this while the manager sits and talks to his buddies on the phone in the corner all day at the desk who works at other stores.
No use going above the manager because he is also a joke.

I've had awful jobs before but this place truly is the worst. You will spend most of the day standing around bored beyond imagine. Besides that you'll spend your day calling losers who haven't paid for the rental property. You are given no support from the manager. He will tell you he has your back, and to follow company policy, only to have him throw you under the bus usually right in front of the customer.

No matter what you do, it's wrong. You will constantly find yourself getting in trouble from the useless manager and his pathetic ego. All while he sits in the corner and talks on the phone with the managers of the other stores, usually talking smack about a different manager.

Quitting was the best decision I made.

Are there stressful times? Like every work place yes. Busy days and slow days. Always paid on time. Weekly pay. As any customer oriented business, sometimes you deal with jerks. On a first name basis with most customers and management. Always learning new things. Been with them almost 4 years at this point and I've always been accommodated for any medical or family appointments. I don't ever start any earlier than 9am which allows me to get my child to school in the morning before going in to work. Also never work later than 7pm and that's only twice a week. Most days work doesn't start until 10am.

I have been with the company for a short time but already have made a few bonus since starting, the people that I work with are amazing! There is always something to do, if its not a delivery it could be a pick up of payment for those who can't make it in, or its fixing something for a customer. I am learning new skills all the time from the manager, and she is always there to show us if we are doing something wrong she will let us know. I can see a this company growing in the future with more stores if we all keep up the great work and keep the clean image up and show that we care about our customers.

The management is terrible, they treat their employees like garbage.
They expect you to work in unsafe conditions, vehichles are not certified properly.
They use unsafe tires, when a mechanic says they could get charged by the MTO for using bad tires.
If you are injured at work, they refuse to help you with WSIB. They do no try and accommodate you if you get injured or are ill.
Overall one of the worst places I have ever worked for. Their idea of a pay raise is 75 cents after 1.5 years.

I enjoy coming in to work and that is rare, the management is done with a personal touch and I feel safe working for them. Their are busy days but you just have to pace yourself, you also have days were you have to make work for yourself. Overall you work with a great bunch of men and woman and they don't mind giving you a helping hand when needed, from the sales staff/drivers to the owners of the company.

current employee going on almost 5 years. each day is different whether dealing with customers to staging a home for resale. working here I have gained knowledge and skills I havnt had before. if you wake up in the morning only thinking you are a replacment then why work anywhere. I enjoy working at rental city as my manager has been a great boss since hire date.  

I have just recently started working at Rental City and it is by far the best job I have had thus far. The management is very friendly and easy to talk to so it makes it less stressful while working. You also build great relationships with your Co-Workers as well as customers which i find very beneficial for everyday life. Overall it is a great place to work and I love to show up to work everyday!
