It is not often that I could honestly give a 5* review but please give this a read. 

I left the armed forces looking for a new career and Rentokil gave me a home, I had never considered a sales role before and certainly knew nothing about Pest Control. I am very happy and this is why;

My typical day sees me attend a mix of residential and commercial customers, I get to investigate and identify the issues the customer is having and then write a detailed report full of solutions and advice to get that customer pest free. This could be as simple as a wasp nest on a residential house all the way up to installing bird netting on a football stadium. I will survey my customers in the morning leaving some time to write my reports in the afternoon.

I've learned a great deal about pest control through thorough training, I regularly work on new and interesting sites and am exposed to almost every industry possible. 

My relationship with my management is excellent, I always feel that they are there to support me and work with me to achieve my goals and targets. Rentokil is a family and there is always someone to help you. It makes it really easy to get on with the job, the added benefit is the job is very rewarding in both satisfaction and financial reward, simply put the harder you work the more you get paid!

The hardest part of the job is getting started there is a lot to learn and it is all relevant, even with prior knowledge of pest control the administration can be tough, but as you get used to it you become quicker and more efficient.

For me the most enjoyable part of the job is solving a customers issue that they have been unable to solve through other companies and getting them ultimately pest free!

If a friend of mine was looking for work, I would without hesitation recommend Rentokil.

I found management not offering much in the way of support and being non helpful when problems occurred during the working day. Almost never answering calls was a bane. The problem with that it means your storing up time and delivery problems which ultimately causes knock on problems with the round. The expectations to complete rounds was unreasonable. The lack of local knowledge of certain areas and traffic build up problems were not taken into account like seasonal influx of holiday makers clogging road systems up and extreme difficulty on entering certain business premises.
Also travel time especially if quite a distance away, returning to depot twice a week (although I agree was necessary) was definitely not taken into account for completing rounds. Even driving to the speed limits it was unrealistic to think drivers could complete the expected workday schedule on certain rural rounds.
The major problem with this company is the complete lack off providing the staff with a pre planned route system. (If this was sorted out I genuinely think I might still be at the company)! Almost everyone does this. If I wanted stress like this I'd of joined DPD or gone into courier work.

I've worked within RI for nearly 4 years. I have found there is great support from not only academy staff but also from your peers both within your business sector but also within the sister businesses. 
From day 1 within the company, it's been noticed how far they are willing to go to train someone and give them the best chance of success - from someone with no sales experience, no prior knowledge of the services or supplies being provided I have gone on to be comfortable and confident in what I need to talk about and what is best for my customers. 
 
Whilst the basic salary could be better, the uncapped commission allows me to advance my earnings, however you have to be willing to work for it. 

The workplace culture varies within the business but generally people are helpful and enjoy interacting with others. 

There isn't so much of a typical day within Rentokil, we have so many varied customers from home owners to global brands in pretty much every industry possible that it gives you a different scenario every day. 

If you want to work at a place where you are micromanaged like a kid, given confusing information multiple times and blamed for the execution, the scapegoat for the “senior” colleagues who are given mighty favoritism to do and say whatever they want then come and work here. They can also make things up and say you did them and there’s absolutely no way to defend yourself. 
You will go home everyday stressed and praying a job recruiter can come and save you from here.
The pay is trash, there wasn’t even a christmas tree (never seen this in any job before) in the office during the holidays and i worked boxing day (full shift) with zero customers calling just to show how hostile and toxic the work environment is. Save yourself the stress and scroll to another job. I wish I did. 
I’ve worked at retail jobs and even a factory once and I have never dreaded a shift as much as I dreaded coming here daily. 

First off this is not a job for slackers. There is alot expected of you and you are expected to deliver. the opportunities for growth are phenomenal as you can transfer all over the world. I came from a military security background and at first was very skeptical if this was the place for me. However the management team gave me every opportunity to grow and now I am doing better than i ever have. This career is not for people looking for a job to coast by you are expected to perform. Sell contracts, Create jobs and route completion are the 3 main things expected and if you can do that then the money and opportunities will flow. There is a chance to get a masters in entomology just by completing your regular courses that you are expected to do. You are given a FREE vehicle that gas is paid for insurance is paid for and maintenance is paid for and you can use this truck as your personal vehicle. Long story short fantastic place to work for highly recommend.

I left my previous job for this one, what a big mistake. Management has no idea what they are doing and will rip off customers while undermining staff to save face. The people in the office and the techs are great to work with, but management is based in Ontario and makes up rules as they go along. If you kiss a*s and suck up you are fine no matter how many mistakes you make, talk up for yourself and others, or show you are smarter then the managers (not that hard) and they will kick you out in a heartbeat.
Avoid this place as its a revolving door of employment where good customer service and common sense are over shadowed in favour of "yes men" and milking customers dry for as much money as possible. Rentokil badly needs a union for its staff otherwise all the a*s kissers will keep their jobs and carry on making mistakes while management turns a blind eye.

My position with Initial Security Services required me to manage, accounts payable and receivable, assist with recruitment and selection, participate in the hiring process, along with the creation of legal documents and contracts.  I learned various roles while a Branch Administrator for this firm.  The culture within this organization was hierarchical and more traditional. I believe overall my experience with Initial Security Services was a valued and experiential experience that contributed to my growth and advancement with my education and as well my development.  The most difficult part of the job obviously at the time was creating contracts.  Not an easy task.  The most enjoyable were working with employees and management.

This is a route work job, I believe it would be better if  I wasn't as new to the industry as I was, though I had a big learning curve, I thrived at getting better and better at my job with every passing day. At the begging this job seemed like it was a good fit, lots of OT, tons of work, you have their truck and can use it for personal use.  Things started to go sideways about 5 months ago, when a new management group came in and started making changes to how we had previously been doing business, Overtime was thrown out the window, route values were cut dramatically. They hired too many new people and had to divide up the route area's. I  suspect I was let go so that the new management group could hire their own specialist for the area.

I have been with Rentokil Initial since July 2016 working in Pest Control, intitially starting up as a local technician through the graduate scheme. Before I joined Rentokil Initial I had not long finished my degree in Conservation Biology and was looking for a job that would offer me stabiity & a straight forward career path, which is exactly what is offered with Rentokil's grad scheme. After just over one year I was promoted into the Surveyor role in which I am still currently doing. Excellent opportunities for additional pay & the freedom to plan your own working day. The commision & grading schemes are very intricate, however with a bit of hard work and determination these can be reached. 

Rentokil is a good place to start a career In pest control. They promote from with in. There are lots of insentive rewards for hitting targets. The apprentiship is intense but you learn a lot of valuable information about the job. If you work hard it's a good job. If your lazy don't bother. The only thing I'm not happy with is when I went on my residential course for 4 days, on the course I had to share with an ex rugby player who snores badly. I also got food poisoning and got reli I'll for 2 of the days. The management would not get me a room for myself for hygiene sake. I was over tired and told I either had to drive home each night or just deal with it. This is not a reflection of the apprenticeship..........
