Research House

A typical day at Research House involves constant checking of quotas for focus group discussions and interviewing respondents from a database to determine their eligibility for these discussion groups. I have learned to pay attention to detail and enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills threw the interviewing process. Management was motivating and had clear instructions on how to meet company goals but ambiguous rules and procedures sometimes makes it challenging to make decisions. The co workers get along and have weekly social meetings outside of the workplace. The hardest part of this job is finding certain respondents for groups before a deadline. Another hard part of this job is the uncertainty of when you will be working. There are periods when there is a lot of projects to work on and there are stretches where shifts can be cancelled for a full week. The most enjoyable part of this job is the friendly working environment that is stress free.

I worked as a Researcher at the day shift. I sat in a booth and conducted surveys over the phone. I learned a great deal of communication skills, computer skills and the value of patience. The management team there were great. A lot of young people who were easy to get along with. They would listen in on certain calls and help you where they feel you needed help. My coworkers were mostly quiet but friendly.and professional. The hardest part of my job was that it was very repetitive, and there were times where it was very slow. The most enjoyable part of my of my job were some of the people I had to talk to over the phone. I made the survey fun and exciting.

highly competetive, fast paced environment that involves calling individuals from company's data base and clients' list to invite them to participate in paid marketing research studies. i have improved my ability to communicate with individuals on the phone.. Management is fairly efficient. My co-wokers are very friendly and helpful. The hardest part of my job is to terminate an individual when they do not qualify to particpate. The most enjoyable is speaking with individuals on the phone and explaining the details of the focus groups and eventually recruiting that person.

The workplace overall wasn't bad. It was very flexible, as in you had to work 4 days a week and 1 weekend but you choose the days, so that was nice. The rises weren't bad ever 3-6months you got a raise. But one thing that bothered me was there being no benefits, so it kind of felt like sometimes I was working for nothing.

This company no longer operates in Vancouver however it was a great place to work and gave one insight to consumer thinking. Organizing focus groups was stressful but very rewarding.

Conduct surveys on the phone in English or French. The calls are monitored and rated to let you know how you're doing. Surrounded by people from different cultures, good thing. You learn how to behave with people via the phone. 

Professional office experience, working with a variety of people. High expectations from clients and managers to get the job done. Many office duties required, such as computer/photocopying etc.

This job seemed like it would be a perfect fit for a long-term career. However, the management is stressful, passive aggressive, and unprofessional. Very rigid scheduling, despite the appearance of flexibility. 

Place for students , job does not involving selling. Everything is done over the phone. Pay is not bad and the supervisors are nice. Hours are good but required to work friday night.

Highly rated as a part time, very flexible scheduled company. Excellent as a second part time job.
Very understanding management. Constantly working to provide high quality results.
