First of all there’s more bureaucracy and politics than fixing issues bywork. The management team is unfit for the dept. they all trained to work like purchasing dept. there’s no respect for this dept. due to management and hierarchy. 
Directors from other dept. are managing the decisions. There is no engineers if there is, their code of oiq is not respected on daily basis. Everyone using influences their power to override your work scope and management has no real experience to work in this dept. all team members including external members on projects are lazy, incapable of doing minimum of their job, not willing and taking responsibility for their parts. Nothing is documented so no trial of work or responsibility to be taken. Biomedical does everything and everybody’s tasks  in project due to no scope of work while everyone else has and no boundaries by it’s management. Your a doormat. You are forced to take responsibility for everyone but decisions made , you are not included. The management team their main goal is to keep their job, so they will throw you under bus or push you in uncomfortable areas for their mistakes and others. 
Your overworked, underpaid, disrespected by all, no resources or training and everyone frustrated and backstabbing. 
There’s no support by management, you are on your own. You need play politics to survive in this hospital. Only plus point is that you can work from home and get away with doing nothing if you know how play the system. This hospital is for people who play politics, lazy. This place is not for smart and professional people. You will find yourself in very uncomfortable and unsafe zones often. 
Does not matter if you have trial of work or absent during the process. It’s a very political hospital , the main goal is to have pay check and not caring about clinical staffs and patients. 

During my stage at the RI MUHC I interacted with a very solid, professional, quiet, and nice team. The co-workers taught me a lot of new things and I enjoyed completing the tasks they were preparing for me. Every morning I was very exciting to wake up and go to work because their support, encouragements, guidance and patience were remarkable.
I have learned to arrange a meeting schedule for the rest of the year and to reserve any of the conference rooms available; to scan, check and filed Signing authority forms; to close accounts. I have enjoyed all the tasks I accomplished. Therefore, the hardest part of the job was talking on the phone (emotions).

I greatly appreciate the attention of RI MUHC staff toward me.

The hospital itself is a great place work in because it's new and most staff are friendly. But the pay is very low for health care workers especially if you just started (Nurses, LPNs, PABs). The parking is expensive, the union contribution is also expensive and the group insurance is expensive with a low coverage. Factories in Quebec have better group insurancies. Also, their overtime pay is so complicated they impose a certain eligibility criteria before you can avail the double pay like you shouldn't call sick etc.

RI-MUHC is a great place to work for a limited time but not somewhere to stay, at least not if you are not a faculty, physician or director. For most positions there is no advancement possibility. The benefit package is good but salaries are ridiculously low. It offers a very positive work environment though: nice colleagues, nice ambiance, very well equipped, and you get to work with real experts. Overall, it will be a positive experience for you.

There's a real disconnect between the management and employees. Many many times there were decisions made by upper admin. staff that was based on budget cuts and had no regard for staff nor patients.They are gapping full time employee's to save money and it's burning us out. We are constantly fighting for our raises since my 15 year's with this employer.  You are insignificant to them and when you fall sick from burn out they will simply replace you.  

Job goes by unnoticed. I’ve learned to work for MUHC in the services department you are a nobody who will be replaced at any instant. Supervisors can be great or than can be useless and unassertive. Zero culture, zero friendliness. Hardest part of the job is constantly knowing no one recognizes you. Most enjoyable part no one pays attention to you so you know you can ignore tasks.

My day is taking care of patients who are on welfare and discussing with  their social worker how much money is allocated for patients and pay their appartment through the salary of social welfare.  Another part of my job is making sure all the billing is sent to csst and we get the appropriate amount.  This is the accounting portion of it.

I had none, since we all were more than friends

Good, since we all are like a family working together

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
perfect with no stress great place of work

We are an academic research institute. I have learned many interdisciplinary research skills. Our working hours are flexible, but occasionally I needed to work in the weekends and after hours. My co-workers are Drs and PhDs from all over the world. The most enjoyable part of the job is working on a cutting-edge technology of bioscience.

Working at McGill University Health Centre as a registered nurse is both challenging and rewarding. While the workload can be intense, the team is supportive and the facilities are top-notch. The emphasis on continuous learning and patient care ensures a dynamic work environment. It's a place where dedication truly pays off, despite the demanding nature of the job.
