The Richmond news was just delivering newspapers to your designated neighborhood once a week. The pay was between 5-10 cents per paper which equated to just about minimum wage if you completed it in an hour. My route was over 100 papers, and usually took 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish, which meant I wasn't even earning minimum wage. You just walk around with bundles of newspapers and deliver them to each house which was very time consuming, but I fairly enjoyed it because it was on my own time, meaning I could listen to music while doing it. Only got kind of tough in winter time when I'd get back from school at 4 and still had to go around in the cold and dark.

The only real cool thing about this job was that my manager had contests every so often to win gift cards or tickets to watch hockey or basketball.

Overall, it was fairly good for me to start off with this job, but I'd recommend starting with a different job if you would actually like to earn money and some perks.

I have two assigned routes so that adds up to about 150 houses to deliver to. The papers come to each deliverers house, early Thursday morning. All deliveries are to be done by Thursday 6pm. I've learned how to finish my deliveries on time every Thursday while also staying committed to school. This job is not hard at all, all you do is walk to each house that is included in your route and put a newspaper at each doorstep. The hardest part is when the weather is windy or rainy because the newspapers get wrecked. I enjoy this job because I like walking around my neighbourhood.

Very nice place to work - great team spirit!  Everyone worked well together.

We had Monday morning sales meetings which were very productive for all the sales team.  Here we were able to bounce ideas off of each other - had some laughs and got ready to tackle the week. Here we were encouraged to suggest new categories to approach advertisers.

The staff at Richmond News were great at communication. They were able to be flexible with my schedule. Ultimately I wanted something more but would recommend them as an employer for someone who wanted additional ours with a casual schedule.

I learned a lot from this job about digital marketing and how to provide the right solutions to the businesses. Management is fun, but needs to be involved more and provide support to sales staff.

The work is fairly easy, however it does require you to have some sort of means of carrying large amounts of newspapers. Payment is under compensating at about $11 for 1:30hr mins or so of work.

This job allowed me to tell impactful stories and the editor helped make them shine. Things were a bit slow adapting to the digital reality, but overall good office vibe and rapport with co-workers

Great place to work with great mangers and customer service. The Job is great as you have to adapt to different situations. Management is very helpful with their employees.

Pretty simple,all you had to do was deliver on time and not anger anyone who did not want newspapers. There were deadlines, however 
the job was really simple and fun!

It’s a good job to  start out with if you are a young kid needing to make a little cash and help build experience or if you are needing to pass time.
