Rideau Recognition Solutions

I start preping work for the production floor and running a financial report for upper management for precious medals. Entered in new customer sales order in for pins and medals. I multi task with all departments in Rideau especially accounting and purchasing on daily basis. I learn new system functions each day and how to deal with my co-workers in work related issues and teach them new skills that could help them in their daily duties. The most difficult part of my job is the micro management, as I am reponsible, intelligent and hard working person. I enjoy seeing my co-workers and having a good conversation with them and also accomplishing customer satisfaction on all orders processed each day.

I moved up in the company very quickly but there were red flags that I completely ignored. Each time I moved between departments, they considered me as a new employee - back to being under probation and can be let go any time within the first 3 months. This was the case after my second promotion. With no warning, I was fired - my most traumatizing experience.

Management hired me due to my knowledge and experience with a company they wanted to acquire as a client. Once they got all the info, they dropped me.

Absolutely disappointed with this company, they have a great lack of organization, they do not respect the job positions for which people are hired, rotating them through different areas without proper training, and then take that as an excuse to not give a raise after 2 years for supposedly not having completed enough experience in the area initially hired... not to mention the dangerous old and unmaintained tools and machines in certain areas, etc...

Wonderful people with heart and character, respectful however, has many challenges ahead to sort out the basic office needs and day to day procedures.  struggles with too many changes which is unsettling to staff and clients.  Has a great team atmosphere, offers sufficient pay and benefits.  Has great potential but struggling with growing pains and perhaps tried to grow too fast too soon.  Had a set back of layoffs to regroup.

The work envoiroment is very unhealthy and mismanaged. Poor infrastructure and IT solutions and infrastructure are extremely flawed, casuing issues and delays. 
Poor cash flow management and questionable distribution of wealth, cause for delays in deliverables and reduce customer level experience and quality.

Used to be a very family oriented business...but has lost that innocence in the last 3-5 years. Their strategy has always been to win over a client at any cost and then figure things out. Sales team has always been given free reign. This has come back to harm the company with many programs being non-profitable.

Slowly losing what made the company special. Owners used to have a good understanding of what was going on. They look to be stepping away, creating a more stressful and less family environment.

I've worked at Rideau Recognition Solutions as a summer job in which I've really loved to be part of that team. Even if I was around people who are older than me. I've learnt how to work in a warehouse and now I know what's is hard work. All my coworkers were nice to me and it's a really good company that's has been around for more than 100 years.

As a student employee during the summer, it was a great learning experience being paired with seniors workers and learn from their professionalism. I learned to adapt quickly in a new environment, organizational skills, a good sense for details, communication skills and teamwork.

I started in the company around January 2019. Since working there, I have been astounded by how kind and a good workplace Rideau has been. The owners are very good people and I recommend this company. Almost all of their products is made in Canada.
