This work is rewarding. The care you give to the clients and your relationship with them will fill your cup and make your work day feel worthwhile and rewarding. However, be cautious with management. From the top down, there is little support and you may experience bullying. Don’t ask questions. Don’t offer suggestions. Just do what you’re told. Ensure you follow legislation because your supervisor may not. Huge responsibility but hugely enriching. If supporting people with disabilities is something you’re drawn to, think about doing it for a different organization. There are several better ones in the area. Good luck! 

RMACL was the worst  employer I had in 45 working years. Everyday I questioned the ethics or moral principles of the management team in relationship to their duty of care to clients. Everyday I felt I was a failure by staying in a job where I saw so much pain and suffering caused by unprofessional, uneducated, inexperienced decisions made by managment. I had no affection or commitment to my employer as they had none for me. There were management & staff who manipulated vulnerable clients. And the same management often treated staff with bigotry & contempt. Horrible employer!

Ridge Meadows is a great place to work. There is a strong culture of teamwork in all of the services. There is no job quite like it.  It is rewarding and fulfilling. Providing the supports necessary to improve and enhance the lives of the individuals we support. Great supports lead to great relationships and great relationships lead to great success for individuals. Rather it is baby steps, or giant leaps, the successes are always sweet.  

Poor leadership. The culture and management style at this agency is unsupportive, selective, non inclusive, unapologetic, and lacks diversity, the ability to adapt or grow towards positive development of employees or the implementation of new strategies for leadership or change in service delivery, the management teams or the improvement of a better work culture.  

My day started at 9 am and finished at 4 pm. I worked in a day program while there. The company is extremely accommodating to make sure you get the hours you would like to work. There are options to work in group homes too. The employees I worked with were all great, it was definitely team of great people making sure our clients had a fun and productive day. 
I would definitely recommend working for this company.

 Great people to be around, cooking, laundry and much more.

The management is the hardest part of the job. If you can get "in" with them you will do great. You will get promoted, shift lines created just for you (with out even posting it) and you will get the rewards. 
Work hard, do your best for the company and the persons we serve, and you wont get recognized here. 

Some shifts are stressful. Some houses are more supportive of the employee than others. Some programs are fun, but dont have enough to do for the clients. 

Nothing but gossip and backstabbing in this place. I have never worked with such childish and mean spirited co-workers. Management tends to do little to manage people until it blows up and then its nothing more than bury it all....ugh

There are many opportunities to find the job/hours that work best for you.  They provide ongoing training including paid first aid every two years and NVCI.
