During a typical day at Roberta Place, I would run into very few problems. There might be someone mistaking me for their relatives, or someone upset because they can no longer walk, but nothing that I couldn't solve by talking with them for a bit. I think I learned a lot about family. It was interesting, the way families either come together or fall apart at old age. All the nurses are always so kind and respectful to everyone. On my first day I got lost and they were able to help me out and show me around. The hardest part of the job is when the residents start passing away, especially if it's a resident you were close with. The most enjoyable part is being able to listen to all the interesting things the people there have to say, and hearing about the lives the led.

The pay is low even though there is a union, so paying dues make pay even lower, also pay is always short hours. The mgmt/office staff are not  organized or consistent. Covid protocols  are different in every unit. They want you to do hours of online learning, but you don't get paid to do it. The seniors are lovely, otherwise not a good place to work. 

I applied to work at Roberta Place as a dietary aide. The manager was extremely nice, reassured my nerves and made me excited to work there. Upon arrival of my first shift, I could already see the problems. I was being trained by someone who was only trained once and therefore had no idea what to do. I was also treated badly by a few PSWs. This job is not worth the pay. Lasted about a week

Staff are friendly to work with. 
Always short staffed
Nothing really seems to be consistent. 
Management belittle you at times. 
Its always nice to see the residents and at the end of the day i just want them to be happy. But its hard when we face these challenges. The communication is horrendous.

Teamwork  is key in this environment  . Helpful colleagues and a good rapport with management . The staff is competent , professional , compassionate and invested in their job .

Supportive team but new staff need better training and orientation. They often come in feeling incredibly overwhelmed and it is hard for existing staff to always train things that they should be learning in orientation. 

Fast paced don’t get paid enough for work everyone is great to work with. Rewarding to work with the residents good experience if your considering becoming a psw 

Seems some employees have been there so long they are burnt out and more task oriented rather than people oriented.
Overall not the worst place but also not the best either.

Team is great, residents and families good. Managers are approachable and care for staff and residents. Pay is good and any issues are addressed properly and promptly
