The work here is easy and/or straightforward. It's just that there's too much nonsense that goes on. That is the hardest part of the job. There are lots of things that can cause one to get frustrated. People make your job more difficult than it already is. Management keeps changing things too. I learned about many types of different electrical products, how they work, their functions/purposes, and how they get installed. People are quiet, kind, and respectful. Although it can be very loud/noisy. The most enjoyable part of the job is that it keeps one fit, and in good shape because of all the heavy lifting, and being on your feet all day gets your steps in for the day. 

In the warehouse there are people that have supposedly been there for years that will do 1 or 2 orders to your 15 throughout a day. Those are the people that somehow get special treatment, compared to you.
When anything goes wrong it will be your fault and those special people will get off free.

People are constantly getting into arguments that no supervisor wants to address and even go so far as to threaten each other. Making comments like "meet me outside", or "you better watch yourself". Bringing these situations to the attention of supervisors or HR falls on deaf ears. In fact it annoys them that you are concerned about these things. While other companies it would be an instant investigation.

There are no apparent rules or regulations here. It is a lawless wasteland of HR and basic rights violations.
The labor board of Canada really needs to investigate this cesspool.

I think this is the only company in the world where warehouse workers know the ins and outs of a job better then management.
The highers ups you as a worker are supposed to double check with and learn from are non-existent.

Lazy good for nothings in higher paying jobs trying to make other workers break their backs, so they can take all the credit when a good outcome happens but when something goes wrong it will be your fault.

Imagine the warehouse manager coming out and asking you how departments are supposed to be ran.....
You can only laugh at such a statement but truly the WAREHOUSE MANAGER will ask you questions about the WAREHOUSE!

If you like taking all the blame, but giving credit for accomplishments to your managers for playing on their phones all day Robertson Electric is the place for you!

Your daily routine is to grab order sheets and pick the orders while keeping in mind how skids should be built. For example heavy items on the bottom and build up towards lighter products. That should be your daily duty.

However what actually happens is you start your job and then Manager A says to do something, Manager B comes along and wants you to do something else, Manager C finds you and asks you about your job and why you aren't doing it. You explain yourself saying another manager needed some help. 

You finish your day and your job to come back tomorrow to find out that you have been complained about for assisting other mangers and then fired for talking back (defending yourself).

Pass on this company you can find other similar jobs that start at 18$/hr instead of the 15$ here.

The big boss is a smart man but the people working underneath him make the company a bad place to work at.

There is obvious favouritism throughout the company, which makes it hard to be inspired to go to work.

They way underpay all their employees and play it off with "Well, Robertson isn't the company you go to make money"

One of the worst parts of Robertson is the HR director is buddy buddy with all the other awful people in the company so you don't even feel comfortable to go to her with any problems because you know that she's friends with them and nothing is going to happen.

There is a lot of gossip but it's easy to avoid.

This company is really what you make of it going in and depending who you have to work with, it could be a great place to work, but I wouldn't waste your time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Rude management, gossiping among women managers and they showed no regards for the employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company would pile excessive work on the drivers with little or no chance of getting additional help.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The managers and supervisors did not show the workers any respect. They would fire workers without any warnings and they delighted in their actions because they have the power to do so.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I was a delivery driver and i would have to load my truck and set up the route, without getting any help.

When you first start there people make it seem like it has a friendly atmosphere and open acceptance to newcomers. You go through your training and then are on your own.

However shortly after being left on your own you'll find that you are being blamed for mistakes that management and senior workers make simply because you are new. However this does not happen once or twice but constantly.

Then they have the nerve to bring up these things that you had no part of in your review after 3 months saying "they cannot justify a raise at this time due to previous errors" or "your supervisor said this about you a while ago".

If you have absolutely no where else to go for work by all means take a job here but it will be miserable, and you will regret it.

Current managers and supervisors are all friends of friends or family members in higher positions then themselves. This leads to people in positions of power who should not have that power. 

For example supervisors should be helping new employees learn the job instead of playing on their phones, doing personal finances in the office, refusing to be proactive in solving issues, listening to suggestions from employees actually working in the warehouse.

Speaking up on these issues marks you as a bad apple and you are quickly removed and replaced, or are given the hardest orders to make you leave voluntarily.

You are either in the "In group" quickly or are the "trouble" group.

There were some good people I worked with. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I never felt like HR would ever help out the people in the warehouse. They pick and choose who they're friendly with and if that's not you then you're on the outs when something comes up.

Boys club. The men are given the slack, female leads get overworked and not shown much appreciation.

It was stressful getting up to go to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Run, don't walk. This has got to be the most toxic bs company ever. The moment they say welcome to the family, that is the biggest red flag. They expect 2 people to do 5 people's jobs, then get mad when said tasks are not completed. Do yourself a favor and apply to any other electrical wholesaler

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The fact that management that sits in their office all day doesn't have a clue how things work in the warehouse itself

Toxic, anyone saying they are a family is the biggest red flag ever
