Leadership skills are nonexistent. This company runs on nepotism, if you’re related to the owners or friends with the owners you will go far. Otherwise, you’re disposable. I have seen many faces come and go, most of them with unbelievable amounts of skill and potential. They use you and toss you out after they line their pockets with your hard work and dedication. Management practices and day-to-day operational processes are inefficient, counterproductive, and lead to low employee morale. Disrespect towards employees are experienced on a regular basis. You'll either be observing it or directly involved. You'll be told not to take it personally and to let it roll off you. One of the most common pieces of advice offered from all sides is to trust no one and keep your back to the wall. You'll be pushed to constantly feel like you need to defend yourself. Management loves to play the blame game, because they literally have no idea what they are doing. You aren’t appreciated for what you do and your time isn’t considered as important.


What is the best part of working at the company?
Going home at the end of the day and collecting a paycheque. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management was inexperienced and didn’t listen to contructive critisism and the product suffered as a result. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The shop level employees were tight knit and had a lot of fun. There was a very big divide between shop and office. The management blamed the employees for the poor quality work and the employees blamed the management for poor planning and direction. There was an employee turnover rate of about 50% annually because of the stress and disorganization. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up, get the work done, go home and forget about it.

My relationship with rockbox started as a client, and later on I was hired on in a management role, I have had nothing but continued support in my role and see other hardworking dedicated employees rise among others to take on more responsibility and grow in their knowledge. Rockbox has some very unique clients with special requests, which sometimes requires we move quickly. Very happy to be apart of the team and excited for everyone involved me futures with the company. Lots of exciting projects lay ahead. 

I have been at RockBox for 3 years, the company is growing very quickly and part of that includes hiring quickly! There are many tenured employees like myself that have been able to move up very fast with the right attitude and work ethic! Management is young which can come with challenges but they’re very receptive to feedback from experienced employees and are quick to implement change. I have seen a few people come and go but typically they had a foot out the door while they were here anyway. 

Working with Rockbox has allowed me to learn and grow from all the other employees. We have a lot of fun even with tight deadlines in the shop. After long days the team will get together outside of work and hang out. 
Very happy that I made the move to a fresh new company with high standards, and receptive management.

Enjoyed my time with my co-workers, but the lack of training, high turnover, and unrealistic expectations made my experience very stressful. It's a very much fend for yourself environment with a lot's of subjectivity on commission payouts. In my time here, it went from pats on the back, to pats out the door when I was let go without cause.





A business with a friendly culture that is built on hard work. Ownership is friendly and encourage open conversation with staff. There is always opportunities for advancement if you are a hard/dedicated worker. 

Do not work there unless you want to be used and tossed out  the door ! The environment is toxic management couldnt build a doghouse . The product they send out is garbage to the point it falls apart in transport.  There timelines are beyond unrealistic ! Do not work there the staff are as bad as the management you will be stabbed in the back ! 

Great place to work with constant innovation to product lines. Every day is a new adventure with custom modular structures. Great crew of people on staff with a lot of ambition and experience alike.
