I repaired Heavy equipment and enjoyed my job. I learned the sad reality of the expression  "it's not WHAT you know but who you know". Management was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen as they behaved like a bunch of teenage girls. "Popularity" seemed more important to them than work ethic and proper procedures. Most of my coworkers were completely incompetent and were being replaced constantly. However some very good and hard working employees were let go for speaking their mind on such issues as SAFETY and proper procedures. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the BS of childish and unprofessional management. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the truck drivers, my work and meeting some good guys despite the issues with management!

If it wasn't for the extreme lack of leadership from the management team it would be a great place to work. 
Our manager in the Peace River Alberta site only shows up 1 day a week; but he is still sucking a full salary out of Rockwater. He also is about as bright as the slow kid in grade 5. In over 30 years of working full time, I have never worked for a manager as useless and stupid. The guy wouldn't know oppurtunity if it ran him over.
Since I started there they have taken away our safety bonus, screwed people out of their referal bonus and manipulated the pay schedules. 
Even when you prove them wrong, they are not man enough to apologize.
I personally know the mechanic that was fired from there and left a review. Great guy. Best mechanic I've ever known. Rockwaters loss.

ROCKWATER was once a good place to work with the company growing there is no job security as they do not see value in good hard working knowledgeable employees, everyone is replaceable in their minds. Management has no appreciation for hard work, long hours and good work ethics. They overwork you and underpay. Very micro managed. They will hire or rehire anyone regardless of previous employment or experience. The wages are below average in the industry with no raises, no employee incentives, they do not have a proper training procedure. The company says they take pride in safety but do not follow through with that. There is no “team” at Rockwater. It’s a good place to get into the oilfield fluid hauling to be trained but would recommend getting out as soon as you can.

Typical day at Rockwater working in the Oil Patch in Alberta would be 12-16 hour shifts, labor intensive and physical work. I learned a lot about honest work and value of money, it was a great experience. 

Many days would were mentally challenging as temperatures would drop to -35 or more and working smart was a big part of keeping your coworkers and yourself safe. 

Hardest part of my job would be the grueling shift work. 12-16 hour shifts for upwards of 40 days in a row. The best and most enjoyable part of my job was being in a beautiful province in Alberta, Canada.

Got to work with a lot of great people both co-workers and customers.  Everyday learning more about the oil field and how to deal with different situations and people.  All levels of management have treated me with respect, not just a number.  I believe they want to keep everyone safe and want the best for all of us.  The hardest part of my job is saying no when I cannot supply a customer with their trucking needs.  The most enjoyable part is the appreciation from customers and co-workers for the work I do.

The employee was very positive to work and willing to do good and clean work. But I seriously saw and experience the management  be careless about safety and environment friendly.I consider this place being at risk for the environment and population. Even that is a good and profitable place to work, I choose not to work there because of the pollution risk cause by poor practice and poor training from the management.

I am greatfully thankful to ROCKWATER ENERGY for the year that I worked there, including the great people that I met. I took advantage of the great years that the oil industry had before it drop. ROCKWATER provide very good training to his workers. unfortunaly the company concluded that it had to close the Rocky Mountain House branch last august.

Company is struggling right now. pay is the lowest in industry and know guaranty of work. This was once a great place to work but since they have gotten bigger, the employs got less noticed. moral is at its lowest and I've seen no actions taken to improve. Its to bad because I actually looked forward to going to work. I've worked there for 6yrs and went thru alot of ups and downs, wish i could say more ups but.....

Very much an unorganized place to be a lot of management that tell u how important they are and that there all share holders and u get the feeling that is a dictatorship and a privilege to be there not so much very sad circumstances when people can’t work together to achieve a common goal and ur left wondering if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing 

Easy going company, if you do the job your hired for they’ll leave you alone. Safety conscious company and they don’t push you HOS ever, which is refreshing. Good group of people to work with!
