I am an experienced presenter with excellent written and oral skills.  I enjoy interviewing people and understanding what makes them do the things that they do.  
I learned that I am a very good interviewer and can get personal without being intrusive or offensive.  Developing a story and gathering visual elements to support it comes naturally to me.  
I research subjects and find appropriate and interesting guests to help tell the story. 
Management and colleagues have been wonderful in their collaborative input.  These relationships have been symbiotic in that sharing ideas and strategies serve to energize and inspire when facing challenges.  
The hardest part of this job was dealing with negative, defeatist perspectives. 
The most rewarding, exhilarating part of the job was post broadcast, when stakeholders praised my objectivity and professionalism.

A typical day of work at my job involves a lot of preparation from the night before. My co-host and I arrive on set for 11am and throughout the whole day conduct interviews and host our show, Social in Peel. Our guests either come from a fitness, health, beauty, or charity background. I am lucky enough to meet a variety of different people and learn about their life. Every show teaches me something new and everyday I get better at my job. My producer is very easy going and helpful, there I consider myself very lucky to be able to work with her. The hardest part is gathering all the information about each guest and hoping it all sounds interesting for the viewers. However, because I love what I do, I do not have complaints or consider any tasks to be "too hard".

Although this is volunteer work, Rogers TV tries to keep as if it was a paid job. They do not accept any slackers or lazy people. This is a small company, but they do teach volunteers a lot about production. They would teach you how to work with they're technology, how to work with others, and how to operate different shows. The hardest part of this job is when it comes to "live shows." On live shows, everyone has to be quick at what their doing and avoid mistakes. The most enjoyable part of this volunteer work is directing because this position controls all the crew members. The co-workers were very nice and sincere to all the volunteers.

Working at Rogers TV as a video editor is great. I work on a segment called "Talk of the Town" which are 1 minute edits of current events in Toronto. I'm working hard making video edits but learning about the topics at the same time.

I work closely with the producer coming up with premises and how a edit should go. Typically,I would go through 2-3 hours of raw video recording and cut it down to 20-30 minutes of good footage that I can later dwindle to a 1 minute final edit. After I'm done cutting the raw materials I then add in effects to make the clips look and sound better. Color correction and audio boost is always needed before it is presented to the producer.

A typical day at Rogers TV Brampton location is sign in with Security.  I would go to production studio clean cups, fill water pitcher.  Set up cameras and audio.  Mic –up guest and host. Taking directions from technical producer to bring SMS’s to tie audio in with video.  My co-workers are I wonderful. I learned audio, camera, CG graphics, and switchboard and guest relations.   The hardest part is mic- up guest if they are wearing are dress or body suit.  The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting different guests that come to shows and production experience.

Interning and Volunteering with Rogers TV has taught me a lot. There is so much room to grow there and to develop skills which are necessary to gain employment in Film and Television. The attitude at Rogers is: You are giving up your time to us for free, let us teach you everything we know.

It is a mutually beneficial environment, and I have made a lot of friends there, and love it. If you have the ambition, this place can give you as much experience as you can soak up.

Everyday you learned something new and taking on new challenges. I learned a lot about customer relations and being specific and detailed. The management always wanted to try to improve your abilities which was very helpful and comforting. The hardest part of the job was long hours on your feet being on mobile shifts which could be 12hrs long. The most enjoyable part was being able to experience different tasks, always being busy.

There are tough deadlines on getting things in the accurate manner for ideal representation however, help from the crew was always available.

I'm just volunteering there but the managing producer got me set up with a cubicle and my own computer so I'd have a place to call my own when I go in to work. The person I took over to show for was and still is so supportive - she helps me out in any which way possible. The director of the show is amazing and makes me feel so comfortable before, during and after the show! Perfect place to start your career.

It was just an opportunity I used to get some experience and community involvement hours that I needed in high school. It was ok because I was the TV crew for the hockey games and the local parade. But they just stopped contacting me for chances to be on the crew and didnt sign off on the hours I spend volunteering. I didnt do anything that would warrant a discharge either but they could have at least made it clear what was going on.
