Rolling Mix Concrete

Typically on Mondays I would make preparation for the week, setting up priorities, scheduling the weeks events and address emails.  Daily I address emails, follow up with replies and address concerns, perform the duties for the day.  The end of every day I like to review what I have completed and approximately and any tasks not completed, that should be moved to tomorrow's priority list.

I have learned to be a constructive criticizer, never discuss a problem unless you have tried to find a resolution to solving the issue.  I feel we all learn every day from big to small landmarks that can help us be the best we can be.

This company has great co-workers that stand behind you and support your decisions and ideas.  I enjoyed working with such a great group of people.

Though the job pay and benefits are within industry standards, the lack of support from the management group in terms of work place policies and procedures have lead to a negative environment.

The focus is solely on putting product out, and if there are issues it is always put back on the employee. Any customer issue (no wash down area, lack of safe access) is handled with a "Do IT or else attitude. The constant threat of termination when meetings are held also leads to a nervous and anxious team environment.

There have been attempts to improve, however, individuals whom have contravened the company policies on harassment and intimidation continually get protected by the managers as long as they are on the managers good side.

Currently work here and have got to say, they are an extremely family oriented company. They really care about the staff and their needs. The supervisory team always makes sure that their employees are properly prepared to complete their tasks in a safe manner and a lot of conversation is put into decisions that affect people. 

The work is challenging and rewarding, although long hours are sometimes needed. Since starting, everyone has taken the time to teach me as much as possible. The company lunches are a fantastic addition to everyday work life. You can feel good at the end of the day knowing that your hard work and long hours put in have made a positive impact on everyone around you.

if times are good , you get lots of hours great money.  
if the economy hits a snag, they expect you to stick with them no matter what. It is a family owned business and there are no such things a a lay off. So if you work only say 1 or 2 days a week, so be it. (there is no such thing as E.I.) the company has a culture of not living off the gov't. so they WILL NOT issue a shortage of work ROE never mind a layoff. So don't ask if you do you end up like the last one who had EI to back him and he was fired officially for running out of fuel, but in a safety meeting we were told the truth by there H.R./safety guy. So here is hoping you have a two income family. If not , you starve. Other than that , great company too work for. If only they would get rid of that "old school mindset". things would be super.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Freedom at work . You can perform your task and then let other party to do same. Payrate is little lesser than market. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In the starting of job you will intract so many guys as per job requirement, sometimes you met rude guys.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s good. And as you go working for some months , you got a better idea of your work and its importance 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 hours normally ,if weather is good. But sometimes you need overtime.

Excellent company with plenty of growth opportunities within the company. They operate a number of different business units that allow for staff to move into various roles if they demonstrate an interest and ability.
Family owned business with a strong commitment to their staff and community.

Compensation is very competitive with the market and they provide excellent pension and benefit plans.

Overall, I am very happy with my employment at Rolling Mix and the RMC Group of Companies.

Started out as a good place to work, then management shifted several times.. you don't actually have the right to refuse safe work unless you want to lose your job. Unrealistic expectations from management.
Only good part was the other workers and occasional BBQs. Benefits and rrsp program is also good.

I would never refer anyone to work here. The manager is a very poor one. There's no communication or organization. They expect you to work on short notice and not have a life outside of work. There's absolutely no work/life balance. There's favoritism. 
I do like what I do there. I really like the truckers

Plenty of hours and overtime but constantly changing shifts, revolving door of workers, poor time and scheduling management and having to pay for your own company issued coveralls to be cleaned leave much to be desired.

Typical day is waiting for call maybe coming in not knowing what boss expects because you have more than one and they are so disorganized and busy with their favouritism ,not a good place to work management is non existent worst moral I've ever seen stay far away from here
