I genuinely loved working with the moms and their children. I was able to build strong rapport, teach parenting and life-skills, support them with appointments and meetings, help with cooking and cleaning, engage in activities, and be part of their confidence-building and goal-planning. The clients and the mission were truly the best part of the job.

Unfortunately, the work environment itself was extremely toxic, and that made coming in every day difficult. The  higher up was overly involved with certain clients and didn’t maintain appropriate professional boundaries. In social work, boundaries and ethical decision-making are essential, and when leadership blurs those lines, it impacts everyone. Staff didn’t feel supported, valued, or backed up when needed — it often felt like you were replaceable.

Some staff were wonderful to work with, but many engaged in constant gossiping, which added to the negativity. Even the good staff struggled to speak up because they didn’t want to jeopardize their jobs. Overall: amazing clients and mission, but a deeply unhealthy work environment.

I did learn a lot working here but the management is terrible. Its a great experience working with young mothers, some of the staff are knowledgeable and dedicated, but the upper management/ED is very controlling, manipulative, and takes the staff/workers for granted and treats workers as though they are disposable. In the time I was there I saw a ton of turnover, a revolving door of staff, many appeared to be 'let go' without reason, others left when they realized what it was like there. No union means the staff have no power. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend. Go somewhere where you will be valued and have opportunities and a supportive management team. 

Staff is generally kind and helpful, especially when you just start out. There is a lot of gossip and politics.
The clientele is fairly pleasant 
Management is horrible and is only concerned about the look of the agency. 
They recently had a horrible ministry review due to not being up to code on many items.

Poor and weak management.  Toxic work environment.  There is a lot of gossip and management often participates in it.  Workplace bullying and harassment and management does not protect its staff, and will side with the toxic staff.  The hardest part of the job is working with the staff,  the most enjoyable is the clients and their children.

A typical day at work involves working with young parents and their children. seeing children grow; working side by side with managers, supervisors and other co-workers to ensure the perfect outcome for the agency. Most enjoyable part of my job was when I helped people everyday and got positive feed backs from them.

If you want to get involve with the community this is a place where you can get some experience. Good place for volunteer or students looking for placement or hours. It's a fun working environment with workers and management work together to making sure that things run smoothly for both workers and clients.

Rosalie Hall is the place where I did my  volunteer last year. For me it was a great experience and I learned a lot from the mediators. Their overall goal is to help people who are in need especially women who doesn't have a place to stay for the time being. I would do my volunteer here again if given a chance!

I had a great time working here, my co workers made it an even greater experience. Management was supportive and accommodating. I really enjoyed my time working here, I had experience going in but I definitely learned more working at this job. 

During my time at Rosalie Hall I learned a lot about patience when dealing with clients. I also became a good problem solver for long term and immediate issue.All in all it was a good experience.

This job was just volunteered experience, i applied online on their website. It was very stressful and the environment in the rooms was very smelly. The staff seemed nice, however i enjoyed working with the kids and having lunches.
