This company is not what it proclaims to be.  It is so inefficiently operated..   Management have very poor communication skills and are behind closed doors or unavailable for the maximum amount of their workday and have no clue as to the comings and goings of their staff.  The HR department, which should be the most helpful,  has the most arrogant person working with them that should never be in HR.  That person has special treatment and can come and go as they wish.  They feel their expertise is far above anyone else in the department or maybe the head office, that's how bad the management is, they don't see the toxic behavior portrayed by this person affects everyone in the office and on site who deal with them.  Workloads are so unbalanced.  Some overloaded to the max and some doing nothing, and they openly say they have nothing to do with half their time.  Until some restructuring is done it's not a great work environment at this company.  You don't have to work there very long before you find all this out, believe me.  Its a shame, if they actually did what they advocate they do, it would be an excellent company to work for.  Don't put it on paper if you are not going to enforce it.   Changing your job ad titles as everyone notices and talks about so often will not entice people it will turn them off and makes you look incompetent as a company.   Rothlochston,  you can do and should be doing so much better!  You will lose good employees just to add to the pile of top notch workers that you have already lost.  I heard before I started there it was a revolving door. One would hope you would take at least something from this review as it reflects the thoughts of not just this former employee but many.

To sum up my experience here, I was employed less that 6 weeks because if it was any longer they would need a reason to let me go. Payroll positions are offered a number of times per year, I'm guessing they hire for bulk data entry for turnarounds at job sites. They did not give a reason to let me go, and I was amazed that they had me believe it would be long term. 
The payroll lead had zero interest in teaching, hr was silent for the most part and I was left to punch numbers for 5 weeks.
It was a bad experience. Plus the other office workers were clicky, the only friendly people I encountered were workers from the sites bringing their timesheets or the ohs manager. 
Also the owner was a hit or miss, mostly miss to everyone that gave their opinion to me. 


I worked at RothLochston for a few months in 2020.  It was a great experience.  The team lead was extremely knowledgeable and so very helpful.  The other payroll administrator was also very knowledgeable and helpful.  It was a fast paced work environment but I never once felt like I had too much on my plate and was consistently asked if I was okay with the workload.  The entire team at RothLochston were good to me and I am proud to have been part of that team!  I often couldn't wait to go to work each day because I enjoyed the environment!

The only reason I left is because I had another opportunity - in hindsight, I probably would not have left!  

It was a ok place to work great rotation and the camp was nice short distance from work. The work environment was absolutely terrible have to wear full faced respirator at all times it is hard to communicate with others while doing a job or having to work together with someone. Overall my experience with this company was not the best I've had very disorganized to say the least and the safety is something like I've never seen before. But all in all if you like being in camp the food is great the rooms are nice and it is a short distance to work also its a great rotation but do expect surprise layoffs..

Horrible management tight lipped people would be blind sided and just laid off.  Expected to be basically on call at all times.  Medium sized company but very click type atmosphere.  Not welcoming, a lot of shady things going on with employees and their actual work and taking time off but if you were liked by upper management you were told to overlook the goings on.  Company appraisal system is a joke, I know of people being told to change their ratings so they would not be given a better raise.  I was very happy to move away and leave this company.

Very unorganized. Pay is decent, work is garbage. Rothlochston only bids on what seems to be small jobs that no other contractors want. Having the proper tools to do your job is a struggle. You have to constantly ask for tools or proper gear that you may not even get. Whatever trade you're hired as doesn't matter you'll do everything, take that as a pro or con. People are great to work with. Benefits ain't bad but not great either. Ioc camp isn't too bad some people complain but I've had much worse.

I was working at night so waking up around 1:30am was i lil bit stressful.

Like i said i was working at night and most of the time i was alone .

I was expected to do the minimum at my job. I always heard "that's the way it's always been done." No point in trying to find a better way to do something. On the surface they look like such a close knit company who cares about all the employees like family, but you could be there for years and be let go so easily for something petty. Seen several people in high positions walked out or passed over for the new favourite. 

Works Monday-Friday 10 hour days with chance of working on-call from 4am Saturday until 4am Monday morning. I see some of the most illegal scaffolding ever. poor management, under staff, very dirty, hot, and cold working environment, hardest part of the job is dealing with extreme working temperatures.

I loved the friendly people I worked with including team mates and management. I also loved the safty culture . I liked the 10 hr shifts. And the fact that they payed overtime. The office staff were there to help in any way they could.
