Working at Rotomaster has been a valuable experience that offered both professional growth and personal development. As a company focused on manufacturing and remanufacturing turbochargers, the environment is fast-paced and production-driven, which kept the workdays dynamic and engaging.

Pros:

Cons:
	•	Pace & Pressure: At times, the workload can feel overwhelming, especially when deadlines are tight or during seasonal demand spikes.
	•	Communication Gaps: Internal communication between departments can sometimes be inconsistent, leading to avoidable delays or confusion.
	•	Career Advancement: While there are opportunities to move up, they can be limited depending on the department or location.

Overall, Rotomaster is a solid place to work if you’re looking to gain experience in a specialized field and value being part of a team that takes pride in its craft. With some improvements in internal systems and communication, it has the potential to be an even better workplace.

Recently started working there with a non experienced parts person that has no concept of engine functions or there parts. Or even looking parts up as they rely on their vendors for looking up parts when there are sites to be pro active and using their vendor web sites. Some of the employees advised me of the amount of turn over of people,that have gone through this place over 150 in production. The General Manager advised me that he wanted the employees on the sales team to be comfortable in working as it was more of a social club and not promoting sales or getting the inventory counted or bin locations. The human resources advised me that l am forced to work with a individual that was very sarcastic and appeared to be the supervisor. I was advised Rotomaster as a whole enourages employees to build a relationship in the work place. In the 36 years l have been in the industry, this is the first l have heard this. They will have had a difficult time in finding a experienced engine Parts Technician it seems you need a psychology degree to work there.

I’ve worked here for a few years now, we do not have enough work for the amount of people. For a workplace with mainly older people, you’d be surprised at the drama and gossip that goes around here. Work life balance is okay, nice part is when you go home you never take work with you. It can be boring, monotonous, and quite frankly a miserable place if you make it out to be. Some management is nice, but most people high up will not bat an eye at you unless they need something from you or if they have a problem with you. Don’t expect to grow here, and don’t expect a career. This is a place to get paid twice a month and nothing more. Workers here are nice, there are some gems but I can count them on one hand. We don’t have any real good benefits, and maybe sometimes we get a company bbq but you’d be lucky if they do it once a year. Not much going on here, there’s lots of other places on this street that are probably better to work for.

Work was good. Not too bad actually. 

BUT the absolute worst part of the job is the management. They will chew and spit you out over minor things. They love to berate you for things beyond your control. Picture this, your fellow employee mess’s something up, instead of just talking to them. They will bash you as well. How does that make any sense? 

The levels of favouritism is insane. People who “actually” work get crucified. Meanwhile those who kick their feet up on the desk, they just get praised in those “workplace meetings”. 

If you think you will get rewarded here for working honestly, and hard. You are gravely mistaken.

Management has completely ruined what could’ve been a great company to work for. And it’s not just the employees affected. Just look at the reviews from the customers, and that’ll tell you a lot as well.

It is a deadline-focused and workload-driven work environment.

Absolutely one of the worst places I’ve ever worked, their managers are on you like hawks, i got in trouble because I ran my break from 12:05-12:35 instead of 12:00-12:30 because i wanted to finish 5 last pieces to my order. They also make you sign a contract saying you can’t work at another place in their industry and they never told me an employee showed me where it was in the hiring signing

A typical work day was good , I learned to be diversed in alot of the different departments but when management started not liking  me anymore  I started getting laid off alot till they permanently laid me off. Nothing hard at this job anyone can do it once your trained. 

I gain good experience in Turbocharger warrants, failures and applications, everyday  same routine no training or refreshment causes, multi-cultures  and defiant experience 
some time warranty is a diplomatic relation

No meeting to discuss where I was being put. Just told with no explanation. Unsure of what was expected on me. Felt that I was to leave the company as soon as possible. Felt unwanted and unappreciated.

The company gives an opportunity to recent graduates and newcomers to Canada to gain the essential first experience. It also offers good benefits and flexible schedules.
