I lucked out with my location. My first manager was amazing. He stood up for me 3 weeks into working with him. He worked hard to make sure everyone had what they needed with schedules. Made great product decisions based on our customer's activities and not always what head office wanted. Seeing as it's not a massive chain, allowing for a stronger showing of local vendors is beneficial to all. We sold soups made by someone that lived in the area, as an example. My second manager, while a strong asset to the company, was less personable with me and others. It was unfortunate that I would receive unnecessary comments about my work pace being impaired by my pregnancy when shelving deliveries. She's given birth too. I was not impressed. Overall, I love the products and am happy to splurge on my family when I can.

The staff and the team make the experience worth putting up with.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with the incompetence of head office and the VG Brothers who have now idea how to manage the company, pay bills, or serve customers.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, broken, and disappointing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Putting out fires and solving problems that you are responsible for, yet have no power in resolving as the corporation does not care enough to assist or facilitate positive development.

Duties include processing tender, including credit card/debit cards and cash, correctly, stocking shelves, cleaning, accepting reservations/take-out orders, preparing products for orders, receiving shipments/maintaining accurate inventory, setting up promotional displays, and other tasks as assigned.
	Display enthusiasm and pride in work, always acting in the best interest of the customer and the company. 
	Consistently maintain accurate stock, inventory and cash counts.

Working for Rowe Farms (in reality VG Meats) was the best decision I made, and at the same time I am so happy I am finally free of them. They are a woefully mismanaged company: poor moral compass, questionable decisions, determined to fail. I learned more than I had bargained for when it comes to bad employers. I will never allow myself to be handled like that ever again. 

I cant imagine this company will be around for much longer if they continue down the path they are going.  If you have no self respect,  moral compass and love to be completely disregarded as a human being then, look no further.   Upper management is delusional scum.  I feel so bad for the managers. I do not know how they cope.

Despite a notional commitment to regenerative agriculture / regenerative  everything, there is nothing regenerative about their attitude to their employees. Especially if you are an earnest, ambitious person, they will use you up until you are completely burned-out and then discard you. Worst executive team I've ever worked for. Do not work for this company.

Benefits, Good Salary, Easy job.

Poor Management, HR and problem resolution. High prices for low quality goods that are difficult to promote. Dirty locations and lots of miscommunication throughout the company chain.

If a magic genie were to pop out of a bottle and give me the opportunity to go back in time and undo ONE decision I made in my life, it would be to never accept the job at Rowe Farms.

I was there for three months. That was two months too long.

The owners are farmers who think they can run a retail chain. They cannot.

Unprofessional and the manager had a different favourite worker depending on their start date which meant we were treated badly, talked about, put down or ignored completely. Very childish. 

Great place when the staff work together and quit complaining.  Let’s improve and work harder.   Management is changing some things lets work with them
