working for the legion could be  very pleasant.Or it could be very long. sometimes dealing with people would be hard if they were drunk..But we would all work together to fix the problem.

just to say all of my co-workers were great. we all helped each other out. the best thing about that was . if one of us were really buisy and couldn" do something the other one would just go do it for you. no one ever complained about the other person. we all worked together. and if somethiong happen at the end of our shift. i would ask everyone to come sit down with me.and i would ask every person one at a time to please say what was wrong. that way there was no talkin g about other people behind there back. and we could work everything out. and have our happy place back. if i couldnt fix the problem then i would have to go talk to my boss about what was happening.

The nicest part was always seeing the regulares .Just to see there beautiful faces and the way they would come to us. and say hi sweetie i missed you. so happy your working tonight. That would make all of us feel so good. and thats what makes your job worth going back everyday.

The beginning of a shift would either be opening at 11:30 am which entails cleaning tables, stocking the fridge,counting the cash in your till system, counting the cash in your Nevada till (Scratch Tickets) vacuuming the carpet, setting up the TVs along with the appropriated lighting. Once the patrons start to arrive greet, converse, and deliver their beverage which they requested all whilst creating a friendly atmosphere. The other shift which is the evening shift starting from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm has you starting off by jumping right in there, counting the cashes in a fast pace, serving people, and prepping for the night to come (Cutting lemons and limes, scheduling events, Cooking food).

Working at the legion was very personal and warm. We had a lot of regular customers that I got to know on a personal basis and treated me like family. I loved serving new and returning customers. The environment was very low key and I was able to do my schoolwork while working, as long as I was paying attention to customers. Weekends would get busy with darts and shuffleboard tournaments. Some shifts during the week I could have an entire 6 hour shift with only one customer. The hardest part of the job was keeping busy on slow nights.

A typical day at work includes coming to work an hour earlier, to set up tables, put bread in baskets, make salad, put dressing, salt and pepper on tables and fill up water jugs followed by serving all courses, cleaning up, and doing dishes. I've learned how to work well with others, and with guests. The management is pretty nice but very strict. The hardest part of the job is serving hot plates of food to the guests as fast as possible. The most enjoyable part would be the interactions with guests and coworkers.

The most enjoyable part of this job is when you can converse with the customers to hear their stories and share in their precious memories that they are making.
The hardest part of this job is when you hear of one of the veterans who have passed away.
The management is run by a small clique who have little customer service ambitions...

The office at the RCL is a very busy and exciting place to work.  You not only meet individuals who once served our country but you meet a various range of people.  People who work in our community, people who like to play pool, sing at Karoke, and love to dance.  

The most rewarding part of the job is helping our veterans...whether it be filling out forms or just lending an ear.

The Royal Canadian Legion is one of the of the greatest places to work, they are extremely caring, understanding and full of support. during a normal day they make sure you are well looked after, that you've eaten and that you are happy an content whilst making sure things get done.

I really enjoy working for the Legion. I have learn how to use a commercial dishwasher, wash floors, bus tables, work independently, and help out with food preparations. I have also used some of my time there to do volunteer work and fill my required hours for high school.

Served elderly patrons, listened to their concerns, and laughed along with them.  This position could be challenging at times within the core structure. The hardest part of this job was moving kegs of beer, which was not ergonomically safe. My most enjoyable experiences was working with the public.

A typical day working at the Royal Canadian Legion for me included waiting on customers, stocking, and doing the bank deposit.

The hardest part of the job was memorizing all of the drinks of the many regular customers of the establishment, but over time you come to remember your regulars with ease.
