Royal Canin is the best workplace that some one ever gets to work at.

Typical day starts with the quality inspection of food and bags that have been packed last shift, then a meeting with a plant manager and other departments heads to discuss the problems faced last shift or current shift, holds, maintenace work done or to be done, quality issues and process issues. In addition, this meeting discusses corrective and preventive actions to the problems, status of currently driven projects, and ideas of new projects. After the meeting, real work of trouble shooting packaging machines, and implementing the projects start.

Learned various maintenance and pre maintenance operations, how to operate the packaging machine efficiently and troubleshoot various problems. 

Management is great to work with since they have given enough space and resources such that I can speak up, design and implement small projects and work with maintenance department to set the big projects up.

All the co-workers are very friendly and always willing to help when I needed. All the associates including plant manager and other managers sit in an open space with no partitions so it's really easy to reach out to someone. 

The hardest part of the job is lack of time for not participating in all the projects related to packaging department as there are so many things going on and I had so many things to do, which limited me to look after certain projects while missing others.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when I stuck with something and ran out of ideas, I used to sit with my manager and packaging- maintenace co-ordinator in lunch room and come up with solutions while messing the lunch table with lots of enginnering drawings.

When the company started. The culture was work hard play hard. Unfortunately now the moral is low. Management delegates, and dictates.
It needs to be more collaborative, better communication. Undercover boss would have a hey day!
In the last year the company has lost a lot of talented, experienced associates.
Hopefully now that plight that was the plant manager has left the building.
A new and prosperous future will evolve.

The product it self is still the Rolls Royce of pet nutrition.

Well paid and great benefits,  also a good atmosphere 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes 12 shifts are long, and getting used to the overnight to days rotation

Everyone from. Office to factory are very approachable and friendly 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There is a schedule of products to be made and tasks are completed by trained people

-No real training; sink or swim mentality with no supports
-Many managers like to present themselves as important but actually do very little to help their teams
-Very cliquish; feels like highschool
-Current site director tries to rule with fear and intimidation, is rude and doesn't follow the company's principles 

This company pays very close attention to detail, ensures complete customer satisfaction and has the highest of quality standards.
Overall a wonderful place to work.

i really enjoyed my time working with Royal Canin. The reason I left is because I was able to find a job that I was more interested in and to help build my career.

Amazing place to work small shifts but great people. They spend lots of time to train you on the machines you use. Easygoing supervisors as long as you are a good worker. It was a job that I would go back to anytime.

Great place to work.  just to let people know theirs shift work.   the shift work gives you more time with family and other things.  work half the year.  work every other weekend could be a problem if you have a social life.

Best employer in my opinion and the people there are phenomenal to work with. When I started on the 12 hour shift it was so hard to get used to but now its perfectly fine.

No matter what your position it is a fast paced environment demanding attention to detail and team work. Also the ability to multitask is highly recommended.
