What is the best part of working at the company?
There is a large sense of team work and belonging. I have felt valued from the moment I arrived, and I am told so regularly. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It is a big building with many staff and residents. It can feel a little chaotic at times. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I find it very comfortable, caring. The culture is very much team orientated. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I do the payroll and scheduling as well as on boarding new employees. So it is very busy, there are a lot of moving parts. I am constantly “switching hats” so to speak. But that’s the environment I thrive in. So it is a great fit.

Management is promoted for the time they've spent with the company, not for their ability to lead. A lot of bad energy trickling from the top down. If you intend to get to the top by kissing up, rather than being good at your job, you will have a lifetime position with this company. Shady operations behind the bars, as management counts the tills by themselves and pockets the surplus (you'll be obliged to pay however). Witness several times. 

However, the tips are high/steady for a pub, and the casual atmosphere generally meant a kind and sensible customer base. 

Bussers will actually be cooks, cleaners, runners, etc...I would not recommend bussing/supporting for this company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very friendly people (owners) family like attitude forward the team. Cant remember anything negative about them.  Great food old recipes all around a great place 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A small kitchen for the volume but they make it work very tight for cooks 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friend and family members  they treat you like your a part of the the company. They take you every one very seriously 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of laughs and smiles but very busy. Easy job sitting

Busy weekends sometimes, slow weekdays. I help waitresses get what they need ready, i clean and set tables, re-fill water for customers or anything else they need. I gained more experience working with different kinds of people and helping different kinds of customers, for example rude or nice customers. Hardest part may be being really quick when cleaning and setting tables on a busy night when you are the only busser. Most enjoyable would be helping others and attending to their needs.

These guys are amazing and awful, the management is either incompetant or awful and works hard, the pay is minimal, no staff meals, we are expected to cut our own hours to meet the demands of corporate. it's all corporate's fault, they are out of touch with the restaurants they manage, the head chef works in a test kitchen only, and thinks that the things that work there work in an industrial-sized, busy restaurant. It's infuriating that the only people who work hard, are paid less.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, ordering, labour, scheduling, budgeting and food cost and margin control
Planning and implementation of pub events to increase sales; Retro video game night, Trivia nights, Ugly sweater parties and Charity fundraisers 
Conducting monthly staff meats to ensure standards, operational practices, efficiency for restaurant development and growth
Standardization and implementation of co-operate systems and ideals

At the start of every shift i set up the line And did all the counts.
I learnt a lot about time management and also working alone.
The management team was awesome And always there for us.
my co workers were always trying there best to keep chit times as low as possible and working with each other to achieve our goals.
There was no hard part to this job.
The most enjoyable part was costumer feed back on the meals they enjoyed.

As a buser you work hard but oppertunity is there to advance as a cook or on the floor as a server.

Good management, friendly and flexible with needs.
Good coworkers who carry their own weight and are fun to work with.

Hardest part of the job would be the occasional late night or heavy kitchen rush.

Good food for staff meals.

I enjoyed my time at the Royal Oak. Given the corporate structure and post-covid challenges, the management at my location was mostly supportive and understanding. I had a lot of fun with colleagues and gained some useful job/life experience. That said, having witnessed the stress and work life balance of long term employees, I don't think I would recommend it as a career. 

At this place if you are new, its hard to move up because everyone is really comfortable. Good luck to you. Im lucky i have two shifts a week and I work hard there. Moved up to server, but yeah try and get to another location. I put 4 stars cause they're nice in a way and the managers are really great people. Just hard to move up unless you rock hard every day !!
