Rubino Shoes

Rubino is a great family business based in Quebec. The culture of the company is great. The family that owns the chain is friendly, accommodating and flexible. I've learned a lot about management, fashion, etc.

Employees have benefits and also have a very interesting employee rebates. They sell only branded footwear for women, men and kids. Brands like Michael Kors, Converse, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Skechers, etc. 

The company is expanding quickly, they currently have 32 stores. With more stores opening up comes opportunity. I started as a sales person. Quickly promoted in a management position. 

You have sales objectives and when you hit the target, you receive bonuses. 

The stores look great and a well maintained. The visual presentation is stellar. 

I truly recommend joining this company!

A typical day at Rubino shoes is basically serving clients, doing the cash, taking care of orders and transfers online, providing customer service on the phone, keeping the store clean and proper for customers and the stores reputation. I have learned to work efficiently as a team while being under pressure and  I have learned and provided leadership skills. The hardest part of the job is not having any break sometimes at work and just working straight up for 6-10 hours. The most enjoyable part of the job is the flexible hours the manager provides especially for a student studying in nursing currently.

When you work at Rubino, you never do enough for your manager. Need a day off because you’re sick? Find someone that can take your shift or get up and go to work. You can work long hours without seating and only have 30 mins off which is not payed for. Getting a better salary at rubino is impossible. There is no possibility of being upgraded. I really don’t recommend working there unless you want to end up burned out. 

This company has potential but it’s leaders are family and there is no place to advance if your not a RUBINO, they care about them and not you and when push comes to shove they will make sure they have the upper hand. Be careful when working there.
Not everyone is bad there made some friends but lost many after I was terminated. 

Not the best or healthiest job considering the family is alway yelling at people or each other. Always figuring out ways to pay less. Taking your innovating ideas and not giving you credit for it.

Little to no care from the district managers, they only care about results but fail to realize that putting your employees against you and treating them poorly is not going go be beneficial for the business. 

Salary is not competetive enough for me to live at a competitive pace and be able to save a little something at the end of each pay period.

the days would never last longer than 8 hours. we had breaks and took them when our manager told us to do so. i learned how to be patient with customers and improved my french and italian. the workplace is always fun and enjoyable and i learned a lot about data entry.

I worked at Rubino Shoes for a year and the best part about it was the staff I worked with at my store. Very nice people that always helped me out when I had questions.

Where do I begin? From the three years I worked there, I was never praised on any of my accomplishments. Management was horrible (the one I had) - she was doing anything in her power for me to leave.
