I work two days a week for 3.5 hours a stretch.
My main task is to contact Alumni , update their contact details(as it is one of our University's way to remain in touch with its former students), inform them about the recent Alumni services the University has to offer them and lastly update them about the developments going around in their faculty and at that time request for donations towards the faculty.
It makes you develop professionalism; ability to tackle different kinds of people; sense of confidence; and the best part of the job is to converse with experienced people having different backgrounds and learn from their experiences.
The hardest part of the job is when you come across someone who is very rude to you on the phone. I always try and tackle this problem with utmost politeness and even after being screamed at continue to do my work.

I work for RNL as a student fundraising rep. This job is perfect for students as you are able to balance your work schedule with your school schedule, you also get to work with other students from your school. Your work is recognized and rewarded, you are always made to feel like you are appreciated. Training was informative and helpful, you will never feel alone at this job. Supervisors/managers go out of their way to assist and teach you in any way they can. Even if you make a mistake, it is viewed as a learning opportunity. The job itself is a call centre environment, there are targets to meet every month but it is not a high-pressure environment. Overall, I strongly recommend RNL if you are a university student looking for a great part-time job.

I first accepted this job right out of college. I had been working for the company as a student caller for about 2 years. I was struggling to find a job during my final semester of college and this job seemed like a guaranteed thing. It was, but it was also not at all what I was expecting. At first, the management seemed open and receptive and the training was fun and informative. However, when I got on site I felt that I was really underprepared. Although the benefits are great and it's a great first job in terms of pay, I would be wary that fundraising and sales is something that you REALLY want to get into before taking the plunge as they essentially require you to work in the position for 2+ years before advancing or changing positions within the company.

*Each shift is 3 hours long
*During a span of each shift as many as 100 calls can be made
*We have time limits for talk times and is best advised to stay under 7 mins. 
* Very friendly co-workers and every time a new caller starts working everyone else is very supportive and encouraging and always looking for ways to help.
* The hardest part of the job is when a caller first starts. It is essential to keep voice and tone very calm. Moreover, the conversations between the caller and the person called are supposed to sound natural not scripted. Hence, learning that was the biggest challenge.

A typical day involves interacting and engaging in conversation with alumni from various backgrounds, the co-workers are really fun and friendly to talk to. The most enjoyable part of the job is the social interaction with people from various backgrounds, the hardest part would not being able to get any pledges on certain days.

It is a nice workplace but with poor staff retention, partly due to the manager who is closed to any suggestions and can be outright hostile for calls that were delayed even by thirty seconds (sometimes it was an imperative in order to get more pledges). Other than that, its all fine.

Similar to any call center environment. The only thing good was the group competitions. The culture was good I'd say. The pay was minimum (helped students make ends meet), the program was mostly geared towards developing conversational skills/customer service among students.

It is a fun environment to work in. You can chat with your colleagues while you are not on the phone. There would be music played during the shift and superviosrs would play games to keep the shoft lively.

Flexible shifts meant i didnt have to sabotage my school hours or responsibilities. Manager always kept us busy and kept a fun environment and atmosphere. Great fun to work here and very satisfying to be able to contribute to the company

Ruffalo gives students a great opportunity to develop their fundraising and communications/PR skills. The workplace environment was very genial and welcoming, and students had a great time.
