A typical day at work ranges from transcribing the providers's orders, focused assessment, and medication administration, to responding to medical emergencies in an effort to fulfill the assigned responsibility of maintaining the quality of the biopsychosocial health aspect of a disenfranchised and under-served population by collaborating with a variety of healthcare professionals in a fashion that displays a non-judgmental approach with an uncompromsing work ethic to uphold the values of nursing. In the process, I've learnt many clinical skills that can be applied towards a RN skill set. For instance, medication administration via various routes, central line care, wound care, telephone verbal orders, delegation, and implement the nursing process. With the kind of management and co-workers I deal with everyday, accomplishing my job duties even under the most strenuous conditions seems like a walk in the park.

The management is incompetent. Not just at Cornwall but the entire university. Even if you are incompetent you have a good chance to rise in the ranks if you play the politics correctly. If you are competent your talent may go unrecognized and die on the vine. I got the general impression people really didn't know what they were doing, from top to bottom. Just kinda winging it and hoping no one noticed. The work was not consequential and did not affect lots of people, just some reports, press conferences, and summer programs. They demonstrated a complete lack of quantitative skills; conducting surveys, doing statistical analysis, writing reports. It was pretty pathetic for a major research institution.

Very good place to come and coast - particularly as an administrator. The idea of managing towards goals or towards completing a task is laughable here. There's so much confusion that if you make a  mistake it can easily be blamed on the next guy. The best thing to do here is get people to like you.

Leadership is not interested in anyone lower on the chain. Management who abuse their staff are never disciplined. Great health benefits, but salary increases are rare. Promotions depend on which department you are in. They have no respect for long-term employees. They regularly push out longer-serving staff to hire new people.

The combination of the expertise between the university and the engineering services group allowed people with the best ideas and knowledge of the project work together to make a working product that will be usable for years to come if the time and finances are available.

Rutgers University is a great place to work, it provides many opportunity to grow in your position with tuition remission. Currently there are many good changes at Rutgers with the merger.Looking forward to these new adventures!

Working at Rutgers University is very rewarding because I have the opportunity to advance myself personally and professionally. My dependents also have the chance to enroll with the Tuition Remission program they have for the employees.

when a class let out at 9 pm, I stayed at work till 10, because I would still get home at the same time.
  Hard to know whether b school or overall university was the more poorly managed.

Increased knowledge and experience in grant writing. I have been in the grant management profession for over ten years and working in this field is very rewarding.
