Working for Chrysler is a constant non-stop work day.  From buzzer to buzzer work is constant and routine, and the confines of your work station is just enough to get your job done.  However the open environment has you working side by side with your co-workers and although conversation can be difficult it is not impossible.
  Management treats everyone equal, and relies on you the job operator for first hand knowledge of difficulties and problems that arise from time to time.  Work days can be difficult under the format we worked under, there is no ability to leave your work station for any casual activities or rest; so, days where you don't feel 100% can be very stressful.  Added to the fact the job is physically demanding.
 A productive day with high numbers and low defects can you leave you with a feeling of success; as those days progress quickly and leaves a feeling of completion in the air.  However, these days are quickly forgotten as the next day or shift everything can change; short manpower, part shortages, and mechanical breakdowns can lead to an extremely stressful day.
  This fast paced environment teachs you to think quickly to solve problems or take a course of action.  When your job is measures in seconds, you can be very surprised how much can be done in under a minute. 

Unfortunately, my experience at this dealership did not align with what was promised during the hiring process. While the role was marketed as supportive and training-focused, there was very little structured training or onboarding provided. New employees were expected to have a high level of product, process, and finance knowledge almost immediately, with minimal guidance or support to get there.

The compensation structure was also extremely challenging. Even with strong effort and selling a solid number of vehicles, it was very difficult to earn a livable income. The pay plan heavily favored long-term employees who already had established client bases, leaving newer staff at a significant disadvantage.

There was a clear lack of balance in lead distribution, mentorship, and opportunity. Support and flexibility seemed to be reserved primarily for top performers and those who had been with the dealership for years. This created an environment where growth and success for new hires felt unrealistic.

This may be a suitable workplace for experienced sales professionals with an existing network, but I would not recommend it for those new to automotive sales or looking for a truly supportive training environment

This is my first full-time security job, working in the security office, watch the CCTV, patrol the factory and office area twice per night, check the computer room temperature every two hours, check and registered the visitors information and company employee staff card, check and registered the trucks information, transfer the phone or message to the company office. The supervisor training me at the working time, taught me how to transfer the phone to the company office, check the message. How to patrol and check the office and factory. Attention the computer room temperature, the temperature cannot be above 76c or below 42c. The factory usually need one guard at night time, but sometimes need two or three guards for dealing the strike, the hardest time at may of the 2012, the factory workers stated strike for asking the more salary and benefits, the co-workers and I tried to quell the strike people anger, communicated to the strike people nicely. protect the factory property. But no one argument or did offensive act to us, so the contradictions between the strike people and company not upgrade. My co-workers taught me to communicated to strike people and face to the striking situation patiently. The most enjoyable part of the job is we always share the pizza at night time. They are nice partner and supervisor to me.

Great introduction into the world of engineering. It helped to introduce me to the different engineering tools that had to be used to solve problems. It gave me insight into the amount of management and team work that was required in order for the company to run properly. It was a wonderful experience because it allowed me to work with different departments such as Quality Control, Industrial Engineering, Tooling, Material Handling and many other areas.This experience was invaluable to me because it helped me to apply some of the knowledge I had gained into real situations and to fine tune my skills. A typical day at work included a number of daily tasks such as verifying the proper operation of tools in station and on the line, compilation of reports and meetings to discuss findings. Additional jobs on top of these included solving recurring problems on the assembly line that were showing up on the end result ( the fully assembled minivan). Solving these problems included tracing the problem back to the root cause, with the help of engineering tools such as the 5G and 3G methods and many others, and upon reaching the root cause, implementing a suitable solution.

The shifts rotate every 2 weeks, which creates a dysfunction in sleep rhythm, (especially for students who work there). As a part-timer, you await for your assigned work station, then commence the work day and complete the same task for 8 hours. The work takes a toll on your joints and back, but occasionally you wind up with a really good placement. I learned how to adapt quickly to new work and to learn by example and as minimal setbacks as possible. In a work environment that requires you to know your job inside and out, you have to be able to keep up with the pace. 
Management was stern but fair, and for the most part, very accommodating within their realm of reason. 
Workplace culture was lively and supportive. People are very helpful and encouraging and friendly. 
The hardest part of the job was the manual and repetitive labour and rotating hours every two weeks. The work was not always bad, just took a toll after a long period of working there. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was the people. The community inside the factory is very welcoming and friendly.

One of the greatest parts of the job is having the opportunity to build relationships with customers and the satisfaction you feel when their expectations have been met

The day begins with preparing and organising the reception area. Throughout the day I met a range of people who are at different stages of their car search. You may meet customers who are in the early stages of looking for a car and need to register their details or those who have just found their perfect car and have arrived to pick up their keys. Regardless of the enquiry, you will give all customers the highest standard of service. We always offer a drink to our customers and it's my responsibility to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Depending on the day of the week there may be a morning meeting in which you are required to take notes. These meetings provide you with the information necessary to carry out your administrative duties, such as the latest knowledge about cars, trucks and vans currently on the market with Chrysler.

I typical day at work consisted of assisting many customers with professionalism and courtesy. I would also assist with loading and unloading heavy objects for those who required assistance. What I learned while working at Walmart was that there are many attitudes that you have to deal with on a daily bases and your response usually has the biggest impact on how the problem is resolved. The mangers there were quite efficient in their daily operations, however they were at times unclear with scheduling which resulted in inefficient work. My fellow co-workers were very helpful and we were part of a team, which meant no selfish agendas would be accepted. The hardest part of my job would be dealing with customers who blamed me for the product or discounted prices not being adjusted. Knowing that this was not my department, I would have to try to reason with the customer and explain in a calm manner that I would get them in contact with the people who were responsible. The most enjoyable part of my job were working withe my fellow co-workers who brought a smile on my face everyday.

Very little organization and tracking. Lots of data is still recorded on paper or within very disjunct files/emails on the server system

Little to no training is provided in the role, you usually shadow someone in the same role for a week or less before you are on your own. OK for experienced hires from auto, detrimental to anyone onboarding

An extreme pressure between departments; production and quality are intrinsically set up to work against each other which usually ends up with both sides losing through compromise

Many continuous improvement/Kaizan type processes are force-fitted to work

Extreme hours expected. Causes very poor morale internally

However, there are many, very knowledgeable skilled tradesmen in the plant. There are lots of hands on skills that are only learned by them working there for years

Union can be difficult to work with, but not an extreme issue

Typical Day is to build close to 500 vehicles per day. The parts you place on the vehicle have to be put on within roughly 50 seconds of time.

I learned not to get involved in the factory monotony.  I did my job and kept to myself unless there was a part defect and I had to call someone over.Management gets along with their team along as long as the line does not stop.  If the line stops, the company is not able to make any money to bring that vehicle off the line.

Workplace culture is very different; it can be very easy or hard depending on how thick-skinned you are. Best to mind your own business and do your own work.  Small talk is ok but only to a minimum.

The hardest part of the job is learning a new job.  It affects your self-confidence and the people training you want to stop training you as soon as possible so that they do not have to do any work.

The most enjoyable part of the day was end of the shift when I could go home to my family.

I worked in the material handling department. I managed the distribution of automobile part to the production assembly department, on a just in time service, utilizing many different computer systems, sequencing and broadcasting the parts to maintain the quality of the vehicles. I supervised material handlers and forklift drivers from stamping,body shop,paint to trim, chassis and final process of auto assmbley. I worked with many different ethnic groups of people, empowering them to do the best they could. Creating a team concept to get the best results for the company's quality standards,maintaining that production requirements were met. I enjoyed the way that things worked like a clock, I took pride when the jobs got finished and all schedules and assignments went well.
