Managers not trained to mentor people, no leadership. Textbook “Old boys club”. First 12 months consists of self-training thru online portal, the occasional trip to Ontario, painfully unproductive. Zero culture in the west. A 100+ year old company and their approach feels like it: antiquated and out of touch. 40% turnover in Territory Managers. The commission structure is very misleading and don’t expect management to explain it. In fact, don’t expect much from management, especially in Western Canada: no commitment to your success. Not a sales oriented organization. You find work and manage installs. And you’re only paid on material sales. If the install goes south, it comes out of your commission. I didn’t see any commissions in first year. I was later told it would take 2-3 years. 

You get 90 days training about the complex products they sell and install. It helps but there is way more to learn, usually on your own. Then you have to manage the install and prep crews on all of your jobs. That was never discussed or had any training. Management is insulated from the daily grind and did not respond to other TM's concerns at sales meetings. Make sure you have a truck. 

Sleazy , by the seat of their pants type of company. Often not given any warnings of up coming work shortages. And bounced around from job to job on a whim. Back breaking work.

Good luck.the president when I worked there has gone  he was a bad person. 

Business in this environment had changed and reps have lot of competition. 

They are not the cheapest...had to win and make a living

Many years ago but worked long hours with  no additional pay.  Low commission and little room for advancement.  Large potential but run like family business.

 if you enjoy old miserable men complaining about anything and everything, having inconsistant hours & no work/life balance than a great job for you. 

Great people to work with ,Time fly's. Always at most part a fun day At work. pay on time people willing to work with one another. Also Willing to teach one another
