Strathcona Child Development Centre

I had an initial phone interview which led to an in person interview with the director and owner.  The job that was offered to me was exactly as described.  I found the pay to be higher than other daycares I’ve worked at and one of the few that offer benefits.  To a mother of 3 this was life changing.  Everyone is very friendly and communication is very good.  Also one of the few daycares I’ve worked at that I haven’t had to buy at least to some degree my own supplies. As a side note management takes Covid safety very seriously. So far a great place to work.  

Everyone is kind and the employees are treated well, and the children are a plus. The pay is more than what I've seen at other companies and the director genuinely cares for her staff. PD days are fun and interactive, and the environment is beautiful. 

I left for personal reasons, but would recommend SCDC to anyone level 1-level 3 to work here.

Cons: staff room is extremely small and there's not much room to put your personal belongings depending on the room you're working in, but that's a small issue compared to the benefits. 

This was the best move in my career thus far and will likely be my final one.  
After working in the field for over 20 years plus in one centre. I felt I needed a change.  Strathcona Child Development centre was the perfect move for me to make, along with the easiest one at that.  I have learned so much from the wonderful leaders and co workers a long side me. I would strongly recommend this centre to anyone starting out in this career or even just needing a change of pace.

 Working for Strathcona Child Development Centre until now has been an enjoyable and fun journey in my career. I learned to build relationship between the children, their families, and co-workers. Opportunities for growth and development are offered to staff and highly supported by its owner. What I like most is that people with diverse background are welcome to work and be part of this company.

I was given a position by the owner of this establishment and was FIRED 2 days later because "they didn't have time to train" someone. They management does NOT care about what you (the employee) has to say. It is their way or the highway. The director of the centre definitely has a technique down pat on how to make someone feel insignificant and small. If you want to work for a company that supports you, makes you feel seen and appreciates you.. DON'T WORK HERE

BEWARE....
Starting wage is not what is advertised on Indeed. Then they are surprised when you expect a higher wage! Very poor management.One manager offers you a job on the spot and asks you to start the next day. Then the other manger emails later and says they’ve decided to hire another applicant. Lied about the reason they went with another applicant. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Honestly It was prob the best centre
I worked at,I thought the director was very kind, fair and good at her job also the supervisor as well.They are very Hardworking and I always felt supported and heard.

I really enjoying working at strathcona child development centre. 
The environment and team work is great over there.
The management is so good, everyone is participating in different activities, sharing of responsibilities.
In short, it’s like a family 
Everyone’s culture and opinion  is valued .

This place has a great management team, not only competent but nice. They care for the employees and are very accommodating. Great program for children and opportunities for professional development. Couldn't ask to be part of a better team.

The staff and families at this establishment are the most welcoming and knowledgeable coworkers I have had, and are eager to help you learn and grow and always have open ears. Overall best place I’ve worked so far
