My team was fantastic and was like a mini family. The product is good and the environment is nice, but the company behind the scenes is very poorly run and extremely disorganized. Getting an answer to a simple problem can take days to weeks or more often never. Upper management has very little experience in tea and it shows, especially to managers with many years of experience in tea. Many "on the fly" decisions are made and poorly executed without much thought including certifying managers on things that upper management themselves are not able to do correctly. 

I loved and will miss my team and my store, but sadly upper management makes it very difficult to do things efficiently. In addition there is no room for growth although opportunities are said to become available but with no follow through. The company provides very few hours to give to your staff with creates difficult when hiring and for having enough staff to cover for emergencies such as sickness.   

It is worth noting that when and if you can get in touch with upper management, they are very nice and friendly, but that is the extent of it. 

overall both my experience as an associate and as a manager have been pretty good. The information on products is easy to find and the quality of tea makes wanting to sell it easy. 

that being said i feel my management training was lacking both due to the pervious manager leaving unexpectedly quick (not T kettles fault) but also a lack of resources easily accessed.  

if you are looking for A PT associate job i would highly recommend the traffic is manageable and the products sell themselves, i have great things to say about all the store managers i have worked with plus it is very flexible around university schedules. 

if you are looking to join management, HO is very new and understaffed so responses can take longer then you would ideally want. Be prepared for things to change as they settle more into a Brand identity. I have had to train myself in a few things so be prepared to be a self starter.

I worked at T. Kettle in 2021 thinking it would be the best job to transition to since my previous job was with davidstea. I was completely wrong this job SUCKED. All my shifts were 8 hours ALONE and i only got a single shift per week (we had three staff members including the manager), we didn’t even have a proper ice machine for serving iced tea, we had like no stock, upper management made us send in a report every day but would do nothing about the feedback provided and we also got practically NO customers. Working 8 hours alone with no customers was just awful. I remember one time we made $0 in sales for the entire day and while my direct manager was great at listening to my frustration that day (she has since left the company), upper management did not care at all. I do not recommend this company. There were also zero benefits minus free tea. 

I wouldn't recommend working for T. Kettle. The company is extremely disorganized and the management preaches consistency from their stores but can never give you a straight answer when you ask. They came they have an open channel for commentary during their bi-monthly webinars, however, in my experience any time any of the managers ask a valid question their entire question gets dodged and we don't get answers. Up until the day I left, I felt unheard and uncared about. The communication is horrible I would steer clear of the company. I understand this is a new and growing company, however many of the incompetencies were unacceptable and the excuse of " we are a new and ever-growing company" gets old fast when you aren't provided the resources to do your job properly.  

Store employees and customers are amazing and definitely the best part of the job! Loose tea is delicious and teaware is beautiful, functional, and durable. 

Company is poorly managed. Upper management is condescending, inexperienced, and unprofessional in addition to refusing to accept feedback or concerns from employees. Any and all problems are blamed on “being a new company” or the in store employees/managers regardless of the problem at hand. Pay is painfully low for the scope of work and expectations. I don’t recommend working here in any role. 

I have been with the company since the very beginning. It has been a wonderful experience with very few negatives, aside from a few growing pains which are always expected with a new, growing brand. Head office staff are wonderful and caring, despite being extremely busy. My role is interesting and ever evolving, my customers are an absolute pleasure,, we sell a quality product. I am grateful for an excellent working relationship with my peers and our management team. 

Absolutely terrible. there is no room to grow, no pay raises, not many benefits, just not a good place to work. The head office is a joke. You are stuck being paid MINIMUM MINIMUM wage of $15/hr which does  not sound bad at first, however when you realize there is no room for that to change it becomes terrible.  You can work your butt off for the company, and still get paid the same as someone who does nothing. take your work, time, and skills elsewhere. a complete waste of time.

Good management but company is poorly run. They prioritize certain stores and forget about the rest. They also don’t answer your emails or calls/questions from my experience. Overall, it’s a chill job and good for a first but the company needs to get their stuff together. 

The store I worked at was very relaxed and accommodating to my physical limits. however the hours and pay were very low and I would be there all day by myself with hardly any customers 

Management and coworkers are very relaxed and chill. I enjoy the discount and work culture. The store is not usually busy. You get to learn how to scale products and package online orders.
