Title: Disappointing Experience with Tac Sport: Not Worth the Hassle

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with Tac Sport, and it's safe to say it was a letdown in more ways than one. Here's why:

1. **Poor Payment Structure**: The payment system at Tac Sport is nothing short of abysmal. Not only is the pay rate low, but they also fail to compensate adequately for the hours worked. It's frustrating to put in effort only to receive a fraction of what you're owed.

2. **Delayed Contracts**: Waiting for several months to receive a contract is unacceptable by any standard. This lack of organization reflects poorly on the company's professionalism and leaves contractors feeling undervalued and disrespected.

3. **Unfair Payment Policies**: With a full week of camps running from 9 to 16, you'd expect fair compensation for all hours worked. However, Tac Sport's policy of withholding payment for work done after 4 pm is unjust and exploitative.

4. **Late Payments**: Adding insult to injury, Tac Sport consistently pays its employees three weeks late. Such delays cause financial strain and erode trust in the company's integrity.

5. **Inadequate HR Support**: Attempting to communicate with Tac Sport's HR department is an exercise in futility. They ignore emails and fail to provide essential documents like pay stubs, leaving employees in the dark about their earnings and employment status.

Overall, my experience with Tac Sport was overwhelmingly negative. Unless you're a high school student desperate for any job experience, I'd advise looking elsewhere for employment opportunities. The hassle and frustration simply aren't worth it.

I am incredibly fortunate to be where I am today, and it's all thanks to TAC Sports. My journey with this outstanding organization began nearly 9 years ago as a volunteer, and since then, I've progressed to become a Head Coordinator. Now, as I embark on my new path as a full doctor, I attribute my success and growth to the unique leadership, opportunities, internships, and co-op experiences offered by TAC.

Working with kids at TAC Sports has been an unbelievable experience. The company stands out as a leader in integrating ATA technology and education, creating an environment that is not just about sports but also about fostering learning and development.

The management team at TAC Sports is a cornerstone of its success. They are consistently positive, solution-oriented, and an integral part of the team. Their approach has significantly contributed to the memorable experiences and professional growth I've enjoyed here.

One remarkable aspect of TAC Sports is the longevity of its team members. Everyone in the office has been with the company for over five years, evidencing the supportive, progressive, and professional work environment. This longevity is a testament to the company's commitment to its employees' career development and well-being.

In summary, my time at TAC Sports has been more than just a job; it has been a journey of personal and professional transformation. The support, communication, and professionalism here are unparalleled, and I am grateful for every opportunity and memory I've had with this incredible team.

A day of work consists of heading in and gathering your bearings before the horde of kids enter the gym. I supervised and engaged in activities with the children under the guidance of lead counsellors. Breaks during the morning and again for lunch. Counsellors must eat snacks & lunch in the same room, breaks are when kids are eating. There are meal plans in effect, so kids receive snacks and repacked lunches or they bring them from home. There are also Arts and Crafts sessions to split up the kids or provide time for the counsellors to prepare for the next activity. There is basketball, soccer, badminton and bicycle riding. Counsellors must split up to supervise different sports, whether riding bikes outside or playing soccer inside.   Some days can be incredibly long while other days can be fun. You will meet some fun people and some not. A handful of kids can be obnoxious so if you don't have the patience to deal with them then I suggest not applying. The work schedules are very organized and be aware of the "overtime" to stay and supervise the kids until their parents get them. Each counsellor was expected to stay 1 or 2 days a week after work hours to supervise & put away all equipment in the storage room. No overtime pay. 
Overall, you gain experience handling kids, working collaboratively with others and improving communication skills. It is not the worst for a first-time summer job. Will not work here again. 

Let me start by saying many of the people I worked with at TAC were some of the hardest-working and most passionate I’ve ever met. And I always felt supported by my frontline supervisors. If you enjoy working with children, the job is rewarding. I’ll never forget some of the kids I taught. However, the management and their practices around pay are problematic. If you work in aquatics salary is very good (well above average). Other departments, not so much, especially for junior and even mid-level staff. 

But, constant mix-ups and flat-out not paying staff are unacceptable, especially as this company hires many high school and university students, plus immigrants who are unaware of their rights. This results in a fairly high turnover rate among staff. You will really need to advocate for yourself at TAC to ensure you are treated fairly. 

If you're considering a job with TAC aquatics, I’d still say go for it. The pool locations are nice, with small classes and high pay. Just make sure you keep track of hours, and don’t let management push you around. To management, you ask a lot of staff, especially during camps, and they deliver for you. As evidenced by the many positive reviews from parents. So pay them properly and treat them with respect. 


Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing because of the lack of communication and organization throughout the hiring process. I attended scheduled interviews where no one was there when I arrived, with no notice or follow-up beforehand, which was frustrating and felt disrespectful of my time. After completing the required training, I was told there would still be a position for me, but weeks passed without any clear update on a start date. Multiple follow-up emails also went unanswered for long periods, leaving me uncertain about where things stood. I have since heard from previous workers that they had similar experiences with communication and scheduling, which makes it seem like this may be an ongoing issue rather than a one-time situation. Despite that, the people involved seem like genuinely good people who are trying to build something positive, and I can appreciate that. I hope this is something they can improve, because better communication and organization would make a big difference for future employees.

Interning at TAC Sports as a Business Marketing Intern was a great stepping stone in my professional journey. I had the opportunity to work closely with the marketing team on real campaigns, from creating social media content to helping plan promotional strategies for seasonal programs and camps. The team trusted me with meaningful tasks, which helped build my confidence and skills in a hands-on environment.
What stood out was how collaborative and youth-driven the culture is. Even though it’s a high-paced organization, especially during camp seasons, everyone was approachable and open to new ideas. I gained practical experience in digital marketing, sports camp management, camp logistics and sport programming. I learned how to tailor messaging to target audiences all while being part of a mission-driven organization.

If you're passionate about sports and looking to grow your marketing skills in a supportive, energetic setting, TAC Sports is a great place to start.

From the beginning I got weird vibes from this job. After a short digital interview, I was invited to a ~2 hour long in-person group interview. This group interview quickly turned into a training session, which was weird. The trainings didn't really follow any structure, and really just felt like a waste of time 

Upon receiving my contract, there were a lot of anomalies (for instance, you're signing with TAC for ~1 year, not the duration of the summer).  

Salaries vary based on the exact position and camp you're assigned to, however most of them are vastly under the market value for these positions. When put against the amount of work you're expected to put in, there's a clear discrepancy.

Pay schedules were also really weird. You're technically on "bi-weekly", but you work for two weeks, then two weeks later you get your paycheque.  This can get pretty annoying, especially when your paycheque isn't released on time.

I’ve had a fantastic experience working at TAC Sports. From day one, the team has been incredibly supportive and committed to fostering personal and professional growth. Management encourages ongoing learning and collaboration, which makes day-to-day tasks both engaging and rewarding.

The organization’s passion for helping young athletes develop their skills shines through in its positive culture and vibrant atmosphere. As a Junior Recruiter, I’ve been impressed by how much emphasis is placed on finding the right people who genuinely love sports and working with youth.

Overall, TAC Sports provides a solid foundation for anyone looking to build a career in sports or youth development. The supportive environment, combined with a shared passion for making a positive impact, makes it a truly enjoyable place to work.

They send schedules the night before, and they don't respect your skills. For example, they might put you on a sports team when you applied for an art role. They also don't provide or review your lesson plans, you basically can just show up there, do non-related random stuff and still get paid. Their summer camps are also disappointing, with supervisors who act entitled and unprofessional. They get passive-aggressive in group chats if you don't do things their way. It's a shame that parents pay a lot for their kids to learn sports from someone who only studied the manuals the night before. If you're seeking authentic sports coaching for your kids, it's best to look elsewhere.

At TAC you get the chance to inspire youths and change lives every day. Arrive at 8 to set up the location (you get used to this time quite quickly).
Participate in three 3 hour sport sessions a day, help children and teens improve in their given sport.
Participate in snack and lunches bonding activities.
It is impossible to describe working here in words, it does not sound appealing through my description, however working here was the most rewarding and heartwarming experience of my entire life. Pay is based on weekly salary depended on performance, certifications and seniority. the experience is worth more than any amount of capital in the world. The friendships you form here as well as the work ethics you learn are invaluable.
