TD Asset Management

A progressive work environment, capturing the critical elements to make working in the organisation productive and enjoyable. The job position was not very challenging, but was useful from the perspective of allowing me the opportunity to obtain Canadian working experience and understanding the behaviours and cultural norms in Canadian work environments.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the easy collaboration among colleagues, sharing and providing perspectives on solutions to business problems. The hardest part was that I was not able to use my core financial and investment analysis skills, as I was mainly involved in operational issues, which while useful, was a bit mundane and not very challenging. The most enjoyable experience, was that I was allowed to explore a business solution, which while it did not provide completely positive results, was useful in terms of allowing me to understand the process of and limitation of the process in deploying software application solutions in a complex organisation.

Typically in a day; very busy mornings, getting cash balances and converting funds to ensure that the traders had adequate information and funds to trade.  Throughout the day, a lot of client exposure, and instructing fund accounting to transfers funds to keep accounts balanced.  Many adhoc processes throughout the day as well.  I learned a great deal with this company, in terms of different types of financial vehicles etc.  I had the best co-workers; we always worked as a team, and when one was busy and the others had some free time, the offers to help were always forthcoming.  The most challenging and also the most enjoyable part of the job was coming up with solutions to create better processes and to cut cost without cutting service.  I love a challenge.

Provided administrative support to the AVP and his team. Learned the value of good organizational and time management skills. My colleagues at TD were helpful and approachable. Coming to work was a joy. Having a variety of responsibilities in my role was the best part of the job. The appreciation that I received from my team at TD was also great.

I worked a brief period of two years with TD and enjoyed the working conditions, staff, management and work.

My main job was with foreign exchange trades, money market trades plus reconciliation. 

There were some fun activities and breaks.

The unit where I worked was outsourced to CIBC Mellon as they are the custody services provider and our services too transferred to them.

Investment operations run by amoral psychopaths with banking experience only. Constant pressure for 'cross-sales' whether in the clients' best interests or not. Constant down-grading of the bonus schemes. This bank turfs people later in their careers in favour of younger people at half the price.

TDAM is a great place to work in terms of the corporate culture, people/co-workers and work-life balance. A lot of people work there for years and really know their job very well,  and they are also very cooperative. No long hours, most employees go home on time.

I've learned a lot from the various positions I've held at TD Bank.  Work/life balance is great, and the people I've worked with and the Managers whom I've worked for have all been second to none.  At TD, we are focused on servicing our clients, and putting them first.

A good place to work.  TD has an excellent inclusive culture where everyone is treated with respect.

The best part about the job is the satisfaction you get when you are able to assist the end client.

Learned RSP products, phone calls directly with clients and data processing.  TD Asset Management is a good place to learn.

An amazing team to work with, everyone helps you learn and develop skills you did not have before. I would highly recommend this place for everyone to try.
