I cannot speak for all departments, but the lady with whom I worked,  was the epitome of professionalism. With her guidance I learned a lot, especially about how to be organized and professional when it came to assisting the executive team.

There was however, a culture of pettiness which needed to be overcome. The concept of the company has great potential. However, it was marred in inefficiencies during the time of my employment (duplication of tasks, lack of clarification as to who was in charge of what).

My salary could have been more competitive yet it is important to remember that this is not an energy company and therefore the budget is somewhat smaller.

Overall this was a good company to work for at that stage in my life (green to the administrative world and relatively junior).

What I learned most during my tenure at TEC Canada was my ability to shine in the most diverse situations outside the scope of a typical Executive Assistant's job description.  

Every job evolves (or it should) and this one veered more towards the 'personal assistant' side as opposed to the 'executive assistant' side, steering me away from the business career path that I envision for myself.

The corporate culture is outstanding.. leadership from top to bottom is compassionate,competent, and committed to everyone’s success.  I am a newer employee and hope to retire with TEC Canada.  Work life balance can’t be beat and fun in the office is a must while maintaining a strong emphasis on helping people. 

Highly recommend and feel truly blessed to be a TECie.

Company has had some major changes in the last few years, all for the good. Culture that is team oriented and people that really care. Great people to work with. Some room for advancement although not a huge organization, but lots of room for learning and developing skill set. Very interesting product if interested in leadership development.

Most of the leadership team are difficult to work with and are very passive-aggressive. Their people skills are lacking and they do not train employees properly and set them up for failure. The staff like to get their co-workers in trouble and there is a lot of conflict within the organization. This is probably one of the worst companies I have ever worked for.

Leadership does not practice what the company promotes. They are very toxic because they lack leadership abilities. Office politics is very evident. Confidential information is shared with individuals who should not be privy to it and it spreads like wildfire.
Leadership demands immediate results,  if results are not seen, you will be micro-managed to the extreme.


Management is out of touch with the direction of the company. Focused on acquiring expensive tools and unnecessary coaching instead of paying employees better and improving processes. They seem like a well put together company from the outside but actually they act like a mom n pop shop with no sense of direction. Stay away if you have another choice. 

As an intern at the company, it was easy and quick to get up to speed with what the company does and become familiar with it. My direct supervisor was always around to ask questions and everyone else were always friendly and helpful. Enjoyable work culture and mini events around the office made working there more interesting.

I work closely with CFO on month end duties, year end file updating and wide variety of analytical projects. Decent amount of politics, great leadership team, great CFO who is a good mentor. Good working culture

Fact - Everyone knows Everyone. 
Great place to work, lots of activity outside of regular work. 
Management is very open to suggestions and implementation.
