This place has bosses that dont know management from a floor bound penny. I was hired to do grinding on a cnc machine but said machine took so much time to come in that when it finally was in the shop i had forgotten how to use it. I was a freshman from machining school so having a job that would show me tricks and nooks would have been great.

That would not come to be...

A CNC grinding machine is very delicate and is sensible to temperature fluctuations. They actually put it right next to the huge garage door in a non insulated part of the building. It has moved now to another part but this shows the level of forethought.

I spent my days having to find work around the shop. I became sort of part of maintenance but they would not give me a position there.

There was a clear segregation between employees, especially when it came to the eatery. The bosses and office people would have their nice little room to eat while the rabble would have a plywood cafeteria. 

The bosses we called the strategists and it was warranted. It was clear that if you were not part of the clique, there would be no advancement whatsoever. If you want an example of why savage capitalism isnt a good idea, go do an intership there.

One great anecdote:

I finally was working on the grinder not far next to a bassin of TCE, an industrial degreaser that (i did not know at the time) was banned in Europe and was right under gamma ray radiation on the scale of cancer giving material.

So one of the strategists came to see me and told me: from now on, you will wear a gas mask while working on your machine.

I go like: lol what? No way.

He tells me that if I dont, i will be reprimanded.

I learned very shortly after that the syndicate (which was kinda run by the bosses anyways) asked for a fan to ventilate the TCE fumes. The government inspector that came to... well... inspect? gave the bosses the choice between the fan and simply forcing us to wear gas masks. Guess what choice they took...

Not long after i quit without giving notice.

Unless you looove segregation and being treated like a pleb, do not go there for work. Or for anything really.

I had to follow up production of electroplated samples to check if customers parameters were met. I managed to check hours and work results of three employees. 
I maintained good contact with over 25 co-workers in order for them to cooperate with me.
The hardest part of the job was to learn by heart all the aeronautic customers specifications.
The most enjoyable one was to be surrounded with a good team striving to make surface treatment on clean and bright metal parts for airplanes.

This is probably the worst company you can work for . Direction is just awful in all possible way . Absolutely no communication whatsoever. 

Strongly advised to stay as far as possible 

management is horrible, worst employee / direction relations in the industry. Salary and union are far from satisfactory. just a bad idea unless if you are desperate.
