I'm coming from the private sector and Telefilm exceeds what you'd get in the private sector. The corporation is going through a transformation and it's been really nice.


Great clientele and a good atmosphere within the small regional office.  My client service skills were often put to the test and, as a result, improved considerably. While the creative meetings with the clients were often nerve-wracking because of the challenge they posed, they were stimulating and enjoyable. Together, we increased the stature of the office to become known as "punching well beyond its weight."

Team collaboration at its best.

Deadlines are very firm here and most if the work is governed by timely presentation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Artistic, meaningful, and collaborative.

There is a great divide in-house between English workers and French workers who control the dialogue which is usually in French! If you don’t speak French it’s really hard to move in the company. The company is in need of a union because as a worker our rights were trampled on often.

It is a nice place to grow a family, to retire. We still expect long working hours. There is a rigid hierarchy. Privileges are acquired with time there. It can be a good place for someone who wants to focus on their personal life or other things or have a crush on media funding.

I was hired on a contract basis working from home, so my experience working with them was not a typical position. It was a very positive experience overall.
