I worked for TFT for a little over 3 years, It actually wasn't too bad at the beginning. I decided to throw my name in at an agency and ended up getting a job as laborer @ TFT. 

I didn't mind it until the joint pain started around the third month. About 4 months in I did end up getting hired on as a full-time employee but was really starting to get sore from the repetitive motions, 6 days a week. 

Two or so months later I was fortunate enough to get promoted to a Forklift position. I went from hating the job to enjoying it again. This is the one great thing about TFT, the in-house promotions. If your driving forklift here and last, then you are good, or they're just really desperate. Being a newbie to forklift I was not good at all. I had no previous experience on a forklift, and to be taken on and trained was a really cool thing.

Eventually like any other repetitive job, you do get bored and start to dislike the job, not to mention driving forklift is not the best for your neck & body. 

This place has a lot of bad polices. The two worst ones being:

To be hired on as a FULL time employee
(i.e benefits, bonuses, etc) must have NO criminal record AT ALL.

Now for me, this wasn't an issue, but for many others it was. Ok, so you can be a "temp" at TFT and work there until you die, but because you have some minor offence 25+ years ago, your chances of getting hired on are NIL. For example, this could be something as simple as public urination. Maybe it happened when you were 18, say you're 48 now. Guess what, it doesn't matter how much you've changed and matured you aren't good enough to get hired. Oh, they will let you continue working as temp for however long you'd like but you will never see a TFT pay stub or benefits booklet. 

They need to have a limit, maybe a clean record for the last 5 years. That would make sense to me. If they want to keep this policy for no criminal record EVER then they need to apply it to the hiring process of temps too. It's not fair to work there for 3 months expecting to get hired on and then coming to the realization that it will never happen.

It's just a gross slimy thing of a policy. It didn't effect me directly, but I worked with too many good people that it did.

The other ridiculous policy is the forklift "incidents". Now if you spill some parts or drive full speed into a post, write them up. But this place for some reason makes a big deal about brushing against something and scratching the paint even slightly. If you take a look at any other factory with forklifts, they're scratched and banged up. It's normal, you drive in tight spaces, every now and then you may rub up against something. If the supervisors were enforcing this policy to a T, then there would be no forklift dirvers @ TFT because they would all have suspended licences! There are minor and major incidents and once you rack up a few you are kicked off the trucks for 6 months. You also take a salary hit as you usually move down to a labor position. 

Overall the place I worked at was pretty relaxed as long as the work got done. Work was always the same and really easy but fast paced. Some times you would get a few people quitting within a short amount of time and would have to work twice as hard. The worse part was straight afternoons 6 days a week. Talk about no life balance. You will see a lot of people come and go, 70% of the teams faces change every 6 months. Depending on your goals in life you may see it as a decent job. For me and 90% of other people it will simply be a pit stop. The amount of time you put in is just not worth the money. They pay fairly low, but you can't expect too much from a job that doesn't really require any post-secondary. You still end up doing way too much work(even if it's 0 challenge mentally) for the money. 

The hardest sell on this job is the fact that it's 6 days a week, especially on a straight afternoon or midnight shift . People are usually not willing to do this unless they are getting payed real money, and that's not something you can expect from TFT. 

You would be wise to avoid this place.

While the job itself was not bad, just repetitive and mundane, and the staff is nice and cooperative, almost everything else was awful. 

The management was awful and barely there for you... unless you are their favourites. If you are, you get to use your phone practically all the time, sit and have a fun time while working! If you aren't, prepare to get chewed out for ANYTHING. Sitting down during downtime, playing music out loud (which everybody else is doing), being on your phone during downtime. Every day almost felt like there was some new rule that management just came up with that you have to respect or else feel like your job was on the line. You might even get yelled at for using an application that is not only extremely useful to you but also that you might need in order to keep up with the assembly line because the higher ups just decided that it should be that way.

Oh also don't expect to have a life outside of work or anything, because not only will your work physically drain you, but also expect for your 5 day work weeks to become 6 day work weeks because of MANDATORY overtime. Also forgot to mention your breaks are only 10 minutes and your lunches are only 20 minutes, so barely any time to rest. Just work, work, work.

The work itself is also all over the place. You'll get like one day of onboarding before you're just thrown into a station where a regular worker like yourself has to train you for maybe a day or two before you're left on your own. Good luck trying to hear all the details through all the constantly loud machinery and random alarms blaring off around you.  And then right as you get used to it, you're suddenly thrown into a completely different station that you also barely get trained for! Mess up and get higher ups yelling at you. You'll quickly be reminded that you are only there to make them money.

Would not recommend.

-A day at work would consist of forklifting in the sequencing section of the plant which was run at the same time as the CAMI Automotive Paint production line. Replacing empty sequencing racks and loading live and empty shunting trucks. 

- Also did engine tear down. Which consisted of disassembling many faulted engines. Removed every part of engine down to separating the transmission from the block. 

- I learned how to work in production as a team to meet the customers highest quality needs. Also, how to properly approach management with any concerns or needs that I had. Finally, I learned small easy tactics to do my work with more efficiency and to the best possible quality. 

- Management was organized for the most part but had a couple flaws. Some managers did not understand certain concepts of the floor jobs and therefore did not treat the employees with the most respect possible. 

-My co-workers were the best most understanding people to work with. Still had a very relaxed environment but still a strict work based policy. 

- The hardest part of the Job was learning all the new tasks with an insufficient amount of training.

-The most enjoyable part of the job was that everyone on the floor worked as a family and were very supportive of one another.  

I started about a week ago, the forklift training is good, but I would suggest another day of training just to understand all the abbreviations used, how to operate the rf scanners. Safety is a big thing with them, but maintenance needs to be more proactive regarding the repair of machines. Forklifts, cushmans, tuggers are operated on a daily basis even though the mechanical problems still exsist. The place is overall well run, but i don't think its fair to ask the employees to train new employees while having to keep up with their regular jobs. It creates an unnessary stress. Long walk to your work area and lots of stairs,  wear comfortable shoes. Overall, there is high turn over, but I think better training and a higher starting pay would help resolve all these problems. Personally I really enjoy working there.

I was from the agency and missed 3 days due to the covid, but did not bring a doctor's note. I was let go, without an explanation and on a Friday after work. No sick days if you are agency. You are not allowed to even sit in the cells.
Worse Management Team I have ever come across. They shout at you, even at the team leads and are very unprofessional. All are BULLIES!!!
It is full of gossip and people who talk about you behind your back. Management is the worse for it. All the Area Leads do is sit there while you bust your back! Watch your back, you never know where the next knife is coming from!
No sense of actual leadership anywhere. If anyone said you did something wrong. Your guilty 100%. They will not take your side. You are always blamed for something you didn’t do.
If management does not like you, or you are not from the company they came from, you have no chance of getting full time there.

when I started at TFT I was told 3 month probation and or 600+ hours. ( before probation 22.50$ no benifits, after probation 30.00$ with benifits ). Long story short I was there for 9 and had well over 1,000+ hours and was certified on most of the jobs in the building plus certified on jobs in other buildings, never missed a day nor was ever late, offered them my time with OT/weekends and I’m still a “ temp “. I started this job for the pay and benifits as a have a family of young growing children and to them they don’t care about you and keep making excuses.
Management has no idea what they’re doing. Absolutely 0 appreciation for your hard work and time.
Equipment/tools for the job are always tagged out or dead and not taken care of.
They want to cut jobs so they add x3 the work onto others and threaten you with your job if you can’t keep up.
I’ve worked in construction/trades my who adult life and this was worst experience by far I’ve ever encountered and a total waste of time. 

Working at TFT Global Inc in Oshawa as a Material Handler has been a genuinely rewarding experience. The role is fast-paced and keeps you active throughout the day, which makes time go by quickly and helps you stay productive. There’s a strong sense of structure and organization in the workflow, so you always know what needs to be done and how to do it efficiently.

One of the best parts of the job is the team environment. Coworkers are supportive, friendly, and always willing to help out, which creates a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. Management is approachable and encourages open communication, making it easy to ask questions or suggest improvements.

The work itself is engaging, involving coordination, attention to detail, and physical activity, which keeps it from becoming repetitive or boring. Overall, it’s a great place to build skills, stay productive, and actually enjoy your day at work while being part of a motivated team.


At the time I was at TFT the company was in considerable flux and did not have a clearly defined goal or plan.  I had 3 managers (Quality Assurance Managers) in the 3 years I worked at TFT.  There was a definite problem with continuity.

The people I worked with were friendly and co-operative.  Because of their hard work and dedication TFT's customers were satisfied.

The most enjoyable part of my job was the analysis and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures.  

The most difficult part was the development and implementation of a system of Layered Process Audits.  I support internal audits as a means of finding areas that need review and possible action, unfortunately the LPA process at TFT became a "tick" list that was completed at the end of the shift because the supervisor had to.

Few employees are helpful managers are incompetent and try to use bully tactics to get people to do things

The managers are arrogant and believe they have all the answers while doing nothing but forcing the employees to work to the point of injury without caring because there are so many people needing jobs

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is hostile and most working there work in fear

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very stressful as there is no security and no loyalty

Worked there for 6 months as a temp. Management did not care about employees. I was training new staff while working multiple positions, constantly being praised as the “hardest worker” and yet after almost twice the required time as a temp to be hired, They terminated me with 12 hours notice. I’m aware that as a temp that was always a possibility but after being promised company advancement and working my a— off for 6 months they dropped me without a second thought. 10/10 would not go back there to be lied to. They also constantly let employees go right before they finished their probationary period.
