What is the best part of working at the company?

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Helping the call Center while walk ins arrive at the office. Short staff 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic. Very stressful.  Lay offs are threating our department for over a year now 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Rushing to the office and having to be in the call queue while driving into work.  Line ups waiting at the office when arrived.

Call winning bidders from the auction.
Take personal information, cedit card information.
Verifiying payment went through.
Print certificates for the customer to be able to redeem.
Call second bidder on reserved items and see if they would like to up their bid to receive product.

Co workers and management are amazing they help if you need it and they make you feel good about what you are doing.

Hardest part of the job would be if we couldnt get ahold or payment for the item number.

The Hamilton Spectator was an excellent opportunity for me to learn advertising and new business development in a faced paced environment. I gained experience within print and was able to develop several money generating programs for Torstar. 

The staff was amazing, excellent team work.

The union ended up working for the company instead of the people and it turned into a classic scenario of the older employees making all the money and doing less work meanwhile anyone born after '86 was barely scraping by. We ran short-handed more often than not. If there's anything positive I can say about The Spectator it would have to be the people.

It would take a few days to get responses from my employer in regards of supplies i needed to be able to complete the job and often the flyers would not be delivered to my house for assembly until late hours of the night before and being a high school student at the time of my employment that made it difficult to ensure on time delivery.

You need to be up so early in the morning and be in the meeting location at 2:30 am to pick up newspapers to be delivered to the subscribers. You need to finish delivering the newspapers on time. It didn't help me with my sleeping patterns. I got headache and had to wake up again to get my daughter ready for school.

First thing was always a group meeting to set out tasks for the day. Through out the day there were check in time to review progress. While working on the floor we tried to have an upbeat attitude and work as a team. The hardest part of the job was to complete all tasks before print time.

I got hired by the telemarketing department. I had to be able to write records of customers/clients who were interested in purchasing a newspaper subscription. Developed excellent customer service skills and written communication skills.

What is the best part of working at the company?
being fully transparent with manager and being able to communicate with them

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
when the newspapers arrived having to sort them the day off delivery

While i am getting laid off in August 2019 the job was enjoyable adn profitable  during my course working there good learning space for working with people and a chill environment more often than not
