What is the best part of working at the company?
Talking to the nicer clients on the phone.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Long hours, and they tend to have you running around in circles. Most people that were on my shift would tend to avoid the more difficult alarms or problems, so many of the more difficult alarms I would take (which would take up to an hour but would reflect negatively on their stats tracking display monitor). Also, they choose favorites so if you're not ideal to what they are looking for you'll end up going nowhere in the company. The manager that hired me told me that the place is a revolving door...

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Childish. Unnecessarily busy. Feels more like a high-school than an office. Some of the staff were friendly. Some of the "leaders" there were absolutely obnoxious! Borderline toxic. Better than warehouse work! It had potential to be much better than they had settled for.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They expect you to clock in 10 minutes before your shift starts, and then it was basically non stop go for 12 hours. If things were still busy at the end of your shift you can expect to stay 10 minutes to an hour after your scheduled finishing time. Your breaks and lunch revolved around how busy it was and other influences. A little unorganized. You are basically just a random person working there doing the job for minimum wage. I enjoyed it, but it was extremely stressful!

You will be conned into working the night shift even though you didn’t apply for that position. Once you’re on night shift, you will never get off and you will never be able to take days off because they do not have anyone to cover their night shift.
Once on night shift, you have to have many hats that you are not qualified for, such as becoming a technician on all alarm systems they use. You will not get paid anymore for this either. 
Their way of training is very terrible, because they are always losing workers, so they need people in the floor asap. As soon as you make a mistake on something you weren’t even trained for, they will penalize you. 
There are way too many catty people who are in positions that they shouldn’t be in. It makes the work environment very unbearable. 
Make sure to take a picture of your hours each week as they will short your cheque sometimes.
If you want to have a life, I wouldn’t suggest working here. 
They do have free lunches often. But if you are conned into working the night shift, understand that you will come into the office to left over food that has been sitting for hours. It’s usually what the others didn’t want anyways. Night shift doesn’t get the appreciation they deserve for all the work they do. 

Problems started to arise as management and coworkers constantly argued with one another. The job culture was that way, very aggressive and "get it done" type mentality; however, nobody accounts for anything "he said, she said" manner.  

I had to do a lot of independent work and cleanup to maintain the customer files. After a while people began to get domineering with me as constant arguments would erupt between coworkers. The experience was problematic, disincentivizing and ultimately a huge let down from senior leadership.

For a "soft collection" job the performance measurements include high expectations for service; however, training for myself and other employees was limited and reviews were critical; highlighting where we need improvement. I didn't enjoy these as different expectations for different people.

A typical day is answering phones and waiting for customers to call, as well as making outgoing calls. Customers would typically call to complain about their bill or transfer from other department to cancel, pay or complain.


I've been employed at the monitoring center for 2 years now. I have grown so much in these past 2 years professional and have had the opportunity to advance positions. Quick and fast paced job especially in the central station. Continental shifts  which can be rewarding having days off during the week for appointments and family. We consider our coworkers more like family and are all easy to talk to and get along with. Management is great and very understanding, they want to see you succeed and are easy to ask questions to if you are unsure of anything. I would recommend anyone to work here if they are looking for a job where you actually help people and feel like you have made a difference for the better in someone else life. The hardest part of the job is sometimes dealing with live emergency situations, you have to think quickly and be time sensitive. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping people make sure that there homes and loved ones are safe.

Being a faithful worker who always comes into work and works hard doesn’t matter at this place. They will half train you and expect that you never make any mistakes on things you just don’t know. They have many alarms that they should have explained in a book to tell you what they mean instead of having you figure it all out in real time.  If you make a mistake on said alarm, they would curse you out. I would google how to deal with certain alarm systems while I was on the phone in order to help customers with their alarms; this is because they say they are open 24/7. However, there are no technicians that work in the night, so you have to become a technician or whatever else the customer may need that isn’t in your job description. If you want to be stressed out all the time, without anyone caring about your well being go for it. They will also ask you to work overnight and keep you on that shift. Once you’re on night shift you can never take time off because there is never anyone to cover your shift. 

I was hired for the "Accounting Clerk" role, where during the interview I was told the following:
- We will train over 4-6 weeks
- Family Company, does not fire. Very fair
- Behind due to Covid, will need to help in Collections. You will be helping answer phones in the meantime, but we look forward to training you. 

I was trained for 1 week on collections, given a cubicle and encouraged to work as a "Collections Agent" fulfilling the following roles:
- Pursue dated Accounts Receivable through cold calls
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Transfer phone calls for cancellation
- Place customers on hold or e-mail back regarding account holder requests

My employment lasted a total of 1 month, after which I was let go for reason, "My phone skills had deteriorated".  
No training review was given or comment on ROE

The company is family owned and operated. They are genuinely caring and friendly.

Company is decently sized, but not huge. No corporate BS.

Lots of very knowledgeable people who are there to help you grow, if you're willing to put in the effort to absorb all of the information they have to share.

If you're willing to put in the effort, and prove to be an asset there is room for growth. But obviously being a smaller company there's only so much room and so many positions to be filled.

Great overall place if you take it for what it is, I would recommend working here, great place to learn and grow as a person, great place as a stepping stone, but your mileage may vary.

Many friendly staff members. Family oriented business owners provide lots of understanding and flexibility regarding your home life. Company lunches and coffees bought. Lots of room for growth and development, however very little and often no pay raise is granted with the promotion or acceptance on taking additional roles. Certain people in management are very hard to work with, and lack basic management skills required to lead their team. In many circumstances I felt myself to be “thrown to the wolves” little or no trading in a given task, and then throwing me tasks outside of my normal daily scope which were often very backlogged and on a tight time schedule. I more often then not found myself in a position where a manager should have taken over and handled a given situation, where I have to take the brunt and downfall, simple because management is not present there to assist.

Management does nothing about harrassment complaints. They allow supervisors to talk to you however they feel even when it is inappropriate. You have issues about how your being talked to and treated managment says they will do something yet nothing ever gets done. The amount of inappropriate talk and comments are disgusting especially being a female at the work place with 90%males.Pay is not done equally or fairly they pick favorites.  They pay you minimum wage for 12 hour shifts and have to deal with horrible people on your shift, its kindergarten for adults... they all act like kids . Allot of drama that happens here .... I hated every minute... they make se*uual jokes and

This company is the best company I’ve ever worked at hands down! Everyone is super nice and always goes out of their way to help or teach you something! Supervisor are beyond amazing, never feel like you ask to many question ! But best of all the work/life balance is crazy amazing! It’s a full time job with part time hours, you only end up working 7 days in the span of 2 weeks because shifts are 12 hours! ( goes by quickly because it is fast paced! If your not used to working long hours you definitely do get used to it so don’t worry) Id definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a really good and stable long term job you can enjoy! :)
