THE NATIONAL CLUB

Working as a server requires various different responsibilities including;
Welcoming and seating diners in the fine-dining 'Simcoe Resturant' located within the club, assisting with menu queries and recommending drink selections.
Taking orders and relaying specific customer requests to the kitchen.
Promptly clearing and re-setting tables. Within my role in the club I serve at large banquets of over 100 people on a daily basis, duties include, taking food and drink orders as well as serving tables, promptly clearing plates and pouring wine. 
Each task is conducted daily with the purpose of  ensuring customer satisfaction by providing an extremely attentive and friendly service.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Monday to Friday only . No weekend needed 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Events guests number could double on the same day on the service.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of executives there more than 20 years. No room for even reasonable changes 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Board chasing things to do. Slow place

The top management couldn't care less about the people that work there , they will pocket every penny they can get a chance to take while making sure you are extremely micro- managed. They will keep you "on-call" w/o benefits even though you are working there full-time/ overtime with regular schedule . It was overall a dehumanizing experience to work there . 

Stable job with consistent full time hours through out the year. Very busy during lunch service for about two hours or so, other then that the work is pretty laid back and easy to stay on top of. Benefits kick in after six months and RRSP after two years.

Working here offered very competitive pay, with great management (usually), with the downside being that it is an only on-call, with hours ranging from 40+ to little or none some weeks. Seasonality is also a big factor! I recommend working here overall.

I really enjoyed my time at the club. Met some really nice people, the chef is incredibly understanding and kind.The HR department is run very efficiently and always there to help. 

Fair boss, and a productive helpful team. Best kitchen I ever worked at. Other staff would jump in the dish pit to help me if they saw the job required more than one person.

Relaxing atmosphere to work in, the people are easy to get along with and the perks such as the food and the easy working hours were also a nice plus.

Flexible work hours at an upscale members-only social club in the heart of Toronto's financial district. Being just a 5 minute walk from Union Station made commuting easy for me.

Its a good place to work . I have been with this for 5 years. It's a fixed hours. Working only on weekdays,no weekends. Less pressure.  Great people.  It's my second home.
