Not a bad place to work at all, you can definitely build a career here.

One thing to know is that as big as the company is, it’s still a family owned business. 

The branches operate on more of a franchise basis even though they’re not and you can tend to see slight discrepancies between how each branch operates. Outside of that it’s been a great learning experience and has definitely put my in a position to advance my career outside of the company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great for starters but not for longevity 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managers are profit driven which results in low pay if not a manager. The top brass has favorite managers that they help achieve success so start acting like a clone if you want to go far. Too much politics involved. If you bring in large profit margins, you are rewarded. If not, see you! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
High stress but also high reward

A typical day, is full of stress, you are not appreciated, and are very disposable. Management at TPH is horrible specially in the Dartmouth location, learn what you can and get out!!!  There is better money out there. The hardest part of the job, is the micro management and unrealistic expectations. Best part of the job was the day I quit. When you complain to head office they brush all issues under the rug and do not care about the production staff.. this is the worst place I have ever worked.

I liked the team I worked with and the company overall is pretty decent. The only negative about this place is you have to have a manager that cares. The managers get a share of the profits for their branch so there is incentive for them to be involved...however that isn't always the case. I had a manager that would go out drinking at lunchtime and on days when large jobs came in, dollar signs would flood her eyes and she would go shopping instead of supporting us.

A busy day. Learned lot of things when it comes to production management. People working in the company are friendly and approachable. The hardest part of the job is when it gets busy and jobs needed to get done all at same time. And the most enjoyable part is every single jobs is interesting to do.

The company expects a lot out of you. They want you to be invested into the company. A lot of the employees have been in the company for a long time. Not a company for people who are trying to figure out what they are good at in life. I would recommend this company for people who are ready to settle into company for a long time.

Lack of emotional intelligence of management and executives

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Your opinions don't really matter. You are not family.

Overworked and underpayed. Overtime is not enough and you almost don't get any after taxes. Very busy and everything is a rush. Everything needs to go out today with no rewards. Bad manager I had. Hope they have better ones now.

The PRINTING hOUSE WAS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR
But it seems if you made a mistake in the past  even though you worked for them for over 15 years they will not rehire you
and it is mostly family run and they think there   dont stink

TPH has it's ups and downs. The job isn't too difficult, but it's very deadline driven. Don't expect regular reviews or raises. The people are generally easy to work with.
