TIPS Personnel

Found they are used as an excuse by companies to avoid taking responsibility for their own mismanagement. 

Politely ask for clarity around job security based on what Im seeing, so I can prepare if this is the case. 
They will shift blame to the company, 
then when asking the company they say "well you work for tips." 

Rinse and repeat this on any issue. 
Just a circle of avoiding problems.

 Couldn't even properly fire me or communicate, just promised work and never text. 

(Enable toxic environment and allow others to act dangerously around you, and attempt to antagonize you for a reaction just to blame you for a petty sense of control, they dont want a worker.) 

Bad idea to attempt to work here, I was able to just follow orders without falling into their traps, and it wasn't good enough for them. 

you will be set back further than when you started trying to work here.

(Truck Unloader) 

I worked here last year to earn some extra cash while going to night school and it was complete and utter garbage. First of all, after you get hired you have to always show up at their office at 6 am and they make you sit for 2 hours in a room full of other people looking for work and 1 by 1 they assign you your job and location. It's mandatory that you go there at 6 am which is such an unnecessary waste of time as they should just tell you where you will be working, the location, and the start time at your interview after they hire you. You could be having to start your job at 9am yet they'd make you come to their office at 6am and sit for hours in front a stupid movie just so they can tell you where to go. You lose sleep and waste time cause of it. Then end up tired and miserable at work. I left and worked for other agencies after and none of them operated like this.

The staff are really friendly but I wish there was more jobs for people like me with low skills and no vehicle. 
They have mostly day work but sometimes companies will request to have you back at the work site. 
The work culture is pretty good. You get to meet new people almost every day and have the potential to get hired by company after you work a whole bunch of hrs for that company. 
The hardest part of the job is having to finish the day at a job site you don't like and where the people are unfriendly. Most enjoyable part of the job would be getting payed and finding a job you really like and being hired by them. You will learn a lot about property restoration such as fire, flood and mold restoration and lots of demo. 

I worked at tips 2014 in the summer between university. The staff was always great to me but the jobs were sometimes rough to be honest. I went back recently in 2020 for some fill in work between jobs and they have completely improved the types of work and jobs you can get. I was offered full time and honestly if i wasn't already working, I would have taken it. The office ladies are all awesome and friendly and they know what they are doing. I have seen it, if you have the right attitude and work hard, they will always have work for you. The best way to get work is to go to the office for there dispatch and try out the jobs they have.I will always use TIPS when I need work.

holiday season is super crazy and you will be pushed to the limit with tasks and hours and deadlines

The culture is not what management claims to be at all.they say they are supportive in helping their staff grow within the company and in reality management doesn't care 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When looking to fill a position employer search for candidates with relevant skills and experience

I worked there as a temp labourer and earned minimum wage for most placements. Unless you have a certain certificate or education related to the work expect 15-16 per hour. Only got a couple 5-7 hour work days a week if there was any work available that week. A couple weeks I had work every day. The staff was very friendly and communication was easy. One time when I didn’t have access to my own vehicle and I was directed to the wrong worksite, a TIPS employee from the office left work to pick me up and dropped me off to the right place.

Getting to work at various assignments and for several diverse companies. Never stop learning

The rate of pay for the amount of labor done on a daily basis

Diverse many different people from many different  backgrounds.

Hard back breaking labour,  to ensure tips has a good reputation of sending good men to the jobs. Ladies too

Just finally got my 400 hours with a company i really liked working for and it seemed they liked me also then TIPS let me go. 

If you work for them make sure you throughly read everything you sign and keep track of your own hours then compare it to your paystub. They like to make a lot if "accidents".

Remember to get your vacation pay at the end of the year because once again they "forget" to process people's that aren't currently working with them. 


Staff at calgary location swear at clients if want to get info about a job before giving personal information.
 I have never in my life been swore at by any of the thousands of companies ive worked for, had a professional relation with, or entered as a customer untill I enetered into tips calgary

Never have I been treated so disrespectful so unprofessional
